SURPRISE!! We have (many) new songs to dance to now, so Kate is bringing Track Five back for one night in Chicago this summer!

Track Five is a podcast live show hosted by Kate Kennedy with a built-in after party that’s designed to bring the Be There in Five community together to celebrate the things we love. The first part of the night is a brief live show and then we… well, move the furniture so we can dance (baby like we stood a chance). For 3-4ish hours following, we’ll play the T Swift music you love and the songs you never get to hear in public places (you’d be surprised how Exile slaps in a bar setting). This is not affiliated with Taylor, of course...this is a party like any other, except Kate controls the playlist, and that playlist just happens to only contain one artist’s songs. Event prices reflect this being 2 events in 1 (and the costs associated with closing venues off to the public for a 5 hour period).

Each venue handles ticketing separately; Be There in Five cannot help with transactional or ticket-related questions, so please contact the venue.

How do we board?

There is NO Dress code (it's a party boat) with the exception of footwear. All guests must wear flat shoes aboard the boat for safety reasons.

High heels and stilettos are NOT allowed for safety reasons.

Like the night sky itself, the world of My Light, My Destroyer is always expanding. Cassandra Jenkins' third full-length cracks open the promise of reaching the edge of the new, with a wider sonic palette than ever before — encompassing guitar-driven indie rock, new age, sophistipop, and jazz. At the center of it all is Jenkins' curiosity towards the quarks and quasars that make up her universe, as she blends field recordings with poetic lyricism that is at turns allusive, humorous, devastating and confessional — an alchemical gesture that further deepens the richness of My Light, My Destroyer's 13 songs.

Jenkins suffuses My Light, My Destroyer with an easy confidence, which betrays the simple truth that the road here was not without difficulty. After the lesson, the dance floor will open with the house band!

Formed in 1995 by Makoto Kawabata at the same time as the Acid Mothers Temple Soul Collective. The group released its debut album in 1997 on PSF Records (Japan), and it was selected as one of the year's best albums in the The Wire magazine (UK). In 1998 the group played their first tours of the US and Europe. Since then the group has released a huge number of albums on labels from many different countries. As of 2017, the group has released around 80 albums. Every year since 1998, they have toured extensively in the US and Europe, and more recently have started performing around Asia and in Japan too. The group has performed in collaboration with many musicians including psychedelic originators Gong and Guru Guru, Simeon (Silver Apples), Nik Turner (Hawkwind), and the Occitanian trad singer Rosina de Peira. Japanese collaborators have included Afrirampo, Tatsuya Yoshida (Ruins), Maso Yamazaki (Masonna), Seiichi Yamamoto (Boredoms), Jun Kuriyama (The Ox), and many others.
