Bi-2 will perform in London with one of their most beautiful programs accompanied by a symphony orchestra. Spectators will experience the majestic sound of their favorite songs performed live with orchestral accompaniment. The concerts create a solemn and mysterious atmosphere with Gothic-inspired design and stunning stage elements – black velvet, candles, a round mirror screen, and magnificent costumes. Godspeed You! Black Emperor released a string of albums from 1997-2002 widely recognized as redefining what protest music can be, where longform instrumental chamber rock compositions of immense feeling and power serve as soundtracks to late capitalist alienation and resistance. The band’s first four releases - especially F#A#∞ (1997) and Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven (2000) - are variously regarded as classics of the era and genre.

Godspeed's legendary live performances, featuring multiple 16mm projectors beaming a collage of overlapping analog film loops and reels - along with the distinctive iconography, imagery and tactility of the band's album artwork and physical LP packages - further defines the sui generis aesthetic substance, ethos and mythos of this group.

GY!BE has issued two official band photos in its 25-year existence (the second, left, a 2010 recreation of the first from 1997) and has done a half-dozen collectively-answered written interviews over that same span. The band has never had a website or social media accounts. It has never made a video. Few rock bands in our 21st century have been as steadfast in trying to let the work speak for itself and maintaining simple rules about minimising participation in cultures of personality, exposure, access, commodification or co-optation.

Following a seven-year hiatus that began in 2003, Godspeed returned to the stage in December 2010 (curating the UK festival All Tomorrow’s Parties) and the band’s post-reunion period has now lasted over a decade, marked by hundreds of sold-out live shows and four additional albums, all of which have been met with high acclaim.

Musician, composer and producer, Nick Mulvey’s work pushes boundaries in songwriting and sound, in music both traditional and experimental, acoustic and electronic. With a unique path to success, Nick spent his early days studying Ethnomusicology in London, before becoming a founding member of the award-winning collective Portico Quartet. He left in 2011 to concentrate on his own material, and once solo, released the Mercury Prize shortlisted debut album First Mind in 2014. 2017’s celebrated Wake Up Now came next, along with a number of EPs. Mulvey’s latest offering was 2022’s New Mythology, recorded during the Covid 19 pandemic whilst in Paris. He now returns, refreshed and rejuvenated by the challenges and successes of his life over the last three years, with Dark Harvest (Pt. 1) and Dark Harvest (Pt.2).

New York City’s Geese return with their highly anticipated 3rd studio album, ‘Getting Killed’. After being approached by Kenneth ‘Kenny Beats’ Blume at a music festival, Geese tracked the album in his LA studio over the course of ten fast-paced days. With scant time for overdubbing, the finished project emerges as something of a chaotic comedy, shambolic in structure but passionately performed, informed by an exacting vision. Garage riffs are layered upon Ukrainian choir samples; hissing drum machines pulse softly behind screeching guitars; strange, lullaby-esque songs are interspersed with furious, repetitive experiments. With ‘Getting Killed,’ Geese balances a disarming new tenderness with an intensified anger, seemingly trading their love of classic rock for a disdain for music itself.

Since they were formed in Boston, Mass, in 1986 by Evan Dando, the family tree of The Lemonheads has had many twisted tentacles and tangential branches, and a host of one-liners etched into its bark. Anyone could be a Lemonhead but for how long who knows? Leastways they’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder with Evan throwing discordant chords against alt-country-tinged melodies, playing that light and dark card.

The Lemonheads’ arcane adventure continues with ‘Love Chant’ set for release later this year. Sparring with guest guitarists J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr and The Bevis Frond’s Nick Saloman, Evan the songwriter remains gloriously astute. The voice is lower and more brooding but the mood is pinprick sharp and the social commentary as barbed as ever.
