Eat Your Own Ears presents Falle Nioke at The Lexington.

Heavily championed by BBC 6 Music, the Guinea-born, now Margate-based, singer and multi instrumentalist FALLE NIOKE has captivated audiences across the world with his addictive brand of mercurial afro-pop.

After years spent perfecting his blended sound, which mixes West African rhythms with experimental electronic music - plus notable collaborations with the likes of Barry Can't Swim and Hot Chip's Joe Goddard - Nioke is set to release his astounding debut album 'Love From The Sea' on 26th September via Eat Your Own Ears Recordings.

Inspired by artists including; Oumou Sangaré, Bob Marley, and Sory Kandia Kouyaté, FALLE NIOKE sings in multiple languages, including French, English, Fulani, Coniagui, and Susu, accompanying his voice with a range of traditional instruments such as the gongoma, bolon, and cassi.

The Lexington is an early Victorian building and as such is not easily accessible for anyone with limited mobility. In celebration the release of his new album, England Screaming, Eric will be playing at the Lexington in Pentonville Road, London N1.

There will be no support act.

Eric will play a solo set and will be joined for a second set by his band (Amy Rigby, guitar, vocals; Graham (Graham) Beck, keyboards, keyboard bass; Morris Windsor, drums) to perform the new album in its entirety.

Pedestrian Band is a three-piece based in London consisting of Enzo (guitar/vocals), Ace (bass), and Milo (drums/vocals). With influences ranging from post-hardcore to 80s synth pop to country, the trio combine complex and distorted arrangements with gentle passages, anchored by intricate yet sensitive melodies. The group’s natural chemistry and raw energy is best demonstrated onstage, as they impose their brand of “spy-punk” on the unsuspecting population of the UK’s underground music scene.

After signing to So Young Records off the back of a few rough demos, it was clear Humour had a unique sound. Their first release ‘Yeah, Mud!’ gained critical acclaim from NME, Clash Magazine, DIY, Dork and more. Following multiple plays on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, and BBC Scotland, the band eventually released their debut EP, ‘Pure Misery’, which quickly established Humour as one of the most exciting acts in the country. They were featured in NME’S 100, BBC Scotland’s Top 25 for 2023, and three tracks from Pure Misery featured in The Herald’s Top 100 Tunes from Scotland in 2022.

The band released second EP 'A Small Crowd Gathered to Watch Me' at the end of 2023, exploring new sonic territories, again to critical acclaim. The songs have received extensive airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio Scotland, as well as being featured in Spotify’s All New Punk, Melomania, Hot New Bands, All New Rock and more. Following this, Steve Lamacq selected Humour as the spotlight artist on his New Music Fix show on BBC 6 Music.
