Pye Corner Audio is a British electronic music project by Martin Jenkins. He deals in an eerie, fragile strain of electronic music mixing the Radiophonic/library music sound, sometimes with a post-punk influence that aligns him firmly with such seasoned hauntologists as Mordant Music, Belbury Poly and The Advisory Circle.

Jenkins refers to himself as the mysterious and nameless Head Technician in most of his online profiles, and extra detail is taken to make the audio and visual elements of his performances look and sound worn and vintage.

PCA first came to attention with 4 volumes of Black Mill Tapes on his own label, Pye Corner Audio Transcription Services. Like his contemporaries Demdike Stare and Ghost Box, Martin seemed to be tapping into some hidden energy current, channeling spirits via electrical means. The pioneering transmissions of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop could be detected lurking within the music’s staticky swirl; so could the ominous throb of John Carpenter’s film soundtracks.

This is a special event in homage to the late hip-hop producer, James Dewitt Yancey, globally known as J DILLA. We honor the memory of a visionary whose contributions to music have left an indelible mark on the music community.

Expect an unmissable line up of DJs spinning a host of Dilla classics, remixes and edits from artists inspired by the man himself – followed by an afterparty celebrating the sounds of 90s/00s neo soul and hip hop.

Join Alessandro Cortini as he brings his visionary work, "Nati Infiniti," to stages across North America and Europe in 2024/25. Alessandro Cortini is an Italian musician, producer, composer, and instrument builder.

Cortini is one of the foremost figures of contemporary electronic music, best known for his haunting, atmospheric work. Alongside being a longstanding member of Nine Inch Nails, he is highly prolific and has released a steady stream of his own heady music on luminary labels including Mute, Hospital, and Important Records for the past decade. Throughout his shadowy rise to fame, he has collaborated with the likes of Lawrence English, Daniel Avery and Merzbow (to name a few). Balancing dark ambience with smokey, pulsing rhythms, his compositions are perfectly restrained, textured and mesmeric.

Cortini was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 through his work with Nine Inch Nails, making history as the only Italian musician to have ever been honored with this recognition.

In 2021, in collaboration with boutique synth builders Make Noise, Cortini released his own, custom-designed, semi-modular synth, “Strega” (Italian for ‘witch’). That same year, he used Strega to build his latest full length, Scuro Chiaro \[Mute\], which Pitchfork described as “pitched somewhere between purgatory and the planetarium ... consistently managing to thrill and surprise”.

In addition to years of extensive worldwide touring, Cortini has also soundtracked fashion shows including Alexander McQueen, Dior, and several of Fendi’s presentations. In 2022, he exhibited a high-concept audio installation called “Nati Infiniti” for Sonar 2022 at Museu de Lisboa’s “Fábrica de Moagem.” A live version of “Nati Infiniti” is set to debut at Berlin Atonal in 2023. Alessandro Cortini’s music has been licensed for use in television, film and documentaries, games, and commercials, including FX’s hit show The Bear, “Thank You Very Much” a documentary about Andy Kaufman, Samsung, BMW, Sony, and Netflix. Remixes have also been a part of Cortini’s identity – remixing the likes of Depeche Mode to Mogwai to Death Cab For Cutie, Yann Tiersen to Vatican Shadow, and more between and beyond.

Berlin-based group The Underground Youth have announced their eleventh studio album ‘Nostalgia’s Glass’ and shared the dreamlike video directed by Parker Love Bowling for lead single ‘I Thought I Understood’

Craig Dyer writes: “‘Nostalgia’s Glass’ looks back at the music of The Underground Youth, forming new songs in a style reminiscent of the band’s past, whilst lyrically condemning the nostalgia that the album is itself guilty of. ’I Thought I Understood’ was the first track for the album that I wrote following the above mentioned objective to write about nostalgia, in this song’s case an unhealthy obsession with the past.”

Expanding on the album’s themes, Dyer adds: “When faced with making the eleventh record of your musical projects career, you think long and hard about the direction you wish to take. Do you look at what is currently popular and aim to carve out a space for yourself in the modern music which you currently enjoy, or do you look back at the foundations upon which your band has built its name and fanbase? This nostalgic sense of looking over one’s shoulder to the past ended up influencing both the musical style of this new record and the subject matter of each track.

The aim became to create a collection of songs that paid homage to our back catalogue, whilst implementing all that had been learnt along the way. I attempted to dissect not only the positive but the negative elements of nostalgia, primarily the romanticisation of the past, be it the politics of a country, the controversial legacies of film and musical icons or the sentimental idealisation of long dead toxic relationships.”
