Sunday (1994) is a story of love. A love that turns lonely long-haul flights into emotional dramas, and bad apartments into settings. A love that starts with a meet-cute and never ends. A love that was born out of music, bonded by music, and now explored in music.

Sunday (1994) is a soundtrack. A collaboration 10 years in the making, Paige Turner and Lee Newell knew they would make music together the second their relationship started. Without ever needing to discuss the sound, style or direction it would take, theirs is the effortless artistry that comes from total trust and honesty. Both musicians saved their best work and tenderest lyrics for this moment, finally exhaling them in the catharsis of this new project.

All coming to fruition and entering the world outside of their one-bed apartment like two characters walking onto the screen, Sunday (1994) are ready for their premiere. Along with their enigmatic, anonymous drummer, ‘x’, their sound is cinematic in the truest sense. It’s music you can imagine characters running through airports to, racing after love. They’re songs for bedroom floor tears or the first time two hands touch. It’s a release that captures love story, and every love story that has ever and will ever happen, in all of its sweet, daydreaming and dramatic beauty.

Every donation helps keep Studio 36 open and accessible, so that more young people can find their voice, develop their talents and feel supported as they take their next steps.

The Weather Station will be joined by a locally curated string quartet featuring Francesca Ter-Berg (cello), Flora Curzon (violin), Valeria Pozzo and Anisa Arslanagic (viola)

The Weather Station — the project of Toronto based songwriter Tamara Lindeman — returns with new album Humanhood, released earlier this year via Fat Possum Records.

The last few years have seen The Weather Station release two albums: the career defining Ignorance (2021) and its ethereal, mostly live recording companion piece, How Is It That I Should Look At The Stars (2022). In that time, The Weather Station have gone on to headline tours across North America and Europe, play major festivals, and perform on the televised Austin City Limits as well as Jimmy Kimmel Live. Ignorance was named Best New Music (Pitchfork), and landed in year-end Top 10 lists from The New Yorker (#1), Spin, New York Times, Uncut, Pitchfork, The Guardian, and many others. Called "a heartbroken masterpiece" in The Guardian, the record was a complex evocation of climate grief that struck a chord worldwide.

As a writer, Lindeman is known for her detail. “Her writing can feel … like the collected epiphanies from a lifetime of observing” (Pitchfork). Over the course of six albums, her music has moved from home recorded, mostly acoustic folk to the “ornate act of world building” (New Yorker) that was Ignorance.

The throughline, though, is a focus on ideas; her lyrics walk the line between the personal and the conceptual, forever tying small moments to larger metaphysical quandaries. Nominated for three Juno Awards, a Socan Songwriting Award, and shortlisted for the Polaris Prize, her albums have made a mark both critically and conceptually.

Opening for The Weather Station is Bristol-based artist and vocalist Lucy Gooch. Gooch grew up singing in choirs in rural Norfolk. Now an ambient pop producer, she is known for her looping vocals and engrossing electronic soundscapes. Her latest release, Desert Window, captures “straightforward moments of ethereal beauty between vast expanses of understated tension,” as described by Pitchfork.

Johnny Jewel is a multi-instrumentalist producer, composer and visual artist. He is known for using all-analog equipment and for his work with bands including Chromatics and Glass Candy; he has also produced for the likes of The Weeknd and Casisdead. His music has featured in Nicolas Winding Refn’s film Drive, Lost River (Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut), Bronson and Jewel performed his own music in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: The Return.

The Beirut Groove Collective is the ultimate destination for rare and soul-fuelled clubbing records from the 1960s to the 1980s, spanning South West Asia, North and East Africa and beyond!

For almost 16 years, the collective of vinyl DJs has been throwing its now-legendary underground clubnights in Beirut, London and worldwide, which has become a home for some of the leading DJs, diggers and tastemakers across the globe.

On the decks are DJ, compiler, NTS resident and the BGC founder, Ernesto Chahoud and Natalie Shooter, a long-time member of the BGC, DJ and music writer. Tracing the connections between underground, pioneering and genre-forming clubbing music from around the world, their sets span everything from Bellydance Disco, Latin Tarab and Armenian estradayin to Ethiopian Jazz, rare soul, funk, beat and psychedelia.

Frontman Ilhan Ersahin is one of those rare moguls of the New York City underground scene via his club and record label, Nublu, and he's spread his New York energy throughout the world. It's possible to see him jamming with The Red Hot Chili Peppers in Sao Paolo, or featuring Bugge Wesseltoft in Blue Note Tokyo or playing a beautiful oriental set with Turkish gypsies in an elegant concert hall somewhere in Europe.

Since 2008 they have set fire to stages all across the world : from New York to Istanbul, from Paris to Sao Paolo, from London to Skopje... Their electrifying, genre-crossing performance posed questions: Is this really jazz Doesn't this sound like a rock band? Where does their sound come from? It's master-level musicianship meeting high eclecticism where the cliché of "east-to-west crossover" finds it's true sense and power. A session is a meeting of a deliberative body to conduct its business. In this case, the business is music, and the music is another heavyweight offering from Ilhan and his crew. Above all, the Istanbul Sessions can aptly be described as cinematic.

Opening the evening is Zag Erlat (My Analog Journal). My Analog Journal (MAJ) is a YouTube channel that curates vinyl-only mixes, focusing on diverse genres, countries, regions, eras, and themes. Founded in late 2017 by Istanbul-born, London-based music producer, filmmaker, record collector, and DJ, Zag Erlat, the channel has garnered a substantial following for its eclectic selections and engaging presentations.

The inception of MAJ was inspired by Erlat’s passion for Turkish psychedelic rock from the 1970s. He began by sharing his collection of Turkish records, aiming to fill a gap in online content for this genre. The positive reception encouraged him to expand his repertoire, exploring and sharing music from various cultures and eras.

ØXN exist at the cosmic intersection of its constituent parts, melding Lankum’s experimental doom folk (Radie Peat), the motorik euphoria of Percolator (John ‘Spud’ Murphy’ & Eleanor Myler) & Katie Kim’s glorious Lynchian meta-verse, to create a sound which exists somewhere between the traditional, the future and the eternal. What began as a side project duo between Radie Peat & Katie Kim in 2018, blossomed into a full-on sonic tapestry with the addition of Myler & Murphy during lockdown, resulting in one of the musical streaming highlights of the Covid era with an unforgettable live performance from the Martello Tower in conjunction with visual artist & Lankum collaborator, Vicky Langan.

In October 2023, ØXN released their debut album 'CYRM' on the relaunched Claddagh Records to global critical acclaim, including a five star review as The Guardian Folk Album Of The Month, #4 in The Guardian's Folk Albums Of 2023 & a five star review in The Irish Times. After two years away, prolific artist and songwriter Benny Sings returns to the stage to perform brand new and unreleased songs.

In the twenty years since he arrived on the scene, Benny Sings has amassed billions of streams for his endlessly catchy music; collaborated with the likes of Mac DeMarco, Tom Misch, Rex Orange County, Kenny Beats, Feist and Remi Wolf; opened for Bruce Springsteen; performed in session for COLORS and NPR Tiny Desk; and played iconic venues around the world, from the Hollywood Bowl to the Carré Theatre in Amsterdam.

Now, Benny's going back to his roots. Touring Europe in November 2025, he’ll be performing new music before it’s been recorded, giving fans an exclusive preview of his 10th solo album, out in 2026. Sibling duo TWO LANES blends acoustic piano recordings with analogue synthesizers and electronic beat elements to create their signature sound. Made up of German brothers Leo and Rafa, the duo has found a loyal audience all over the world. On their latest release - the Innervision EP - they continue to expand upon various genres, ranging from electronica to melodic techno.

Raised in a musical family, the two brothers took different musical paths growing up. Leo showed an early interest in playing the piano, immersing himself in the works of JS Bach, Schumann and Debussy. Eventually, he would go on to study at The Juilliard School in New York City, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Historical Performance. Rafael on the other hand was always fascinated by the possibilities of electronic music. He spent endless hours experimenting with sound design and electronic production. At some point the brothers realized that their talents complemented each other perfectly, and TWO LANES was created. It didn’t take long for their sound to catch on, as they quickly attracted radio support from the likes of BBC1, Sirius XM, Triple J and amassed over 300 million plays across all streaming platforms. With their evocative and expansive sound, TWO LANES is positioned to be a fixture in electronic music for years to come.

Formed in 2005, Maybeshewill have since released four full-length albums and an EP of towering, cinematic instrumental music. After their first decade as a band, which saw them tour across four continents, they bowed out in 2016 with a sold out show at London’s Koko. Having reformed briefly in 2018 at the request of The Cure’s Robert Smith for a show at Meltdown Festival, the band returned in 2021 with ‘No Feeling is Final’’ - an album born from a place of weary exasperation, but intended as a message of hope and solidarity. After party with DJ sets from the band and their friends in the venue bar until 4am.

After the sold out success of November’s Nicer Tuesdays, our monthly event is back for some talks about graphic design on film sets, battling impostor syndrome and viral storytelling. Join us on 4 December at EartH Hackney for our next Nicer Tuesdays in London for our final event of the year. another selection of brilliant creatives.

At next month’s event, you can expect talks from Charlotte Mei, a London-based contemporary artist, painter and illustrator who has worked with Sony Music, Hermés, Panasonic and the New York Times, as well as having her work exhibited in London, Hong Kong, Berlin and New York. She’ll be talking about the evolution of her work which has gone through considerable changes. We’ll also be joined by the creator of A View, from a bridge, Joe Bloom, an artist and filmmaker whose viral Instagram videos invite strangers and celebrities to tell stories on an old-fashioned red phone on a bridge. What started as conversations with passerbys has turned into an internet sensation featuring David Byrne, Lil Simz, Cameron Winter, Loyle Carner and more – Joe will be bringing some of these stories to the Nicer Tuesdays stage as he talks about the creation of the beloved internet series.

Following our talks for the evening, Annie Atkins, the Academy Award winning graphic designer will be joining us for a Q&A, covering topics such as the importance of telling your own stories and scoops on working in the film industry! Annie’s work spans books such as Fake Love Letters, Forged Telegrams, and Prison Escape Maps, a book about graphic objects for film sets and her new children’s book Letters from the North Pole, as well as work with Wes Anderson on The Grand Budapest Hotel, Isle of Dogs and The French Dispatch.

Make sure to get down to the event at 6pm when the doors open to have the chance to grab a drink and snack from our sponsors El Rayo Tequila and Lovecorn, then the talks will begin at 7.15pm. Alongside our sponsors this month, there will be a musical accompaniment from Epidemic Sound, who will be curating the soundtrack for the evening and will also have a booth where attendees can also get an expert-led demo of its soundtracking platform and take home some exclusive merch from the company’s latest drop.

Studio 36 provides music making facilities and expertise for free to young musicians in London who face a variety of barriers that might prevent them from making the most of their creativity and talent. 

Every donation helps keep Studio 36 open and accessible, so that more young people can find their voice, develop their talents and feel supported as they take their next steps. 

A percentage of your donation goes towards a payment processing fee (DICE keeps none of this fee).

London rising star Sophie May has today shared her new single ‘Dog Body’. Sophie will also be playing a headline show at London’s EartH on 5th December 2025.

Speaking about ‘Dog Body’, Sophie says: “On the surface Dog Body Is a song about a girl that transforms into a dog. But if you peel back a layer, its true meaning is routed in PMS. I was tired of the emotional rollercoaster that my hormones were taking me on. Often being left feeling like a misunderstood animal, wishing it was human.”

Ozric Tentacles are, simply put, legends of the UK underground, and are now credited as an influential musical linchpin of the scene's re-emergence. "The Ozrics" layer ambient and ethereal landscapes with freeform dub trips, incredible rave grooves, and psychedelic progressive rock. Their aim is not just to make truly unique and culturally diverse music, but to harmoniously unite all in attendance, and create portals for astral travel. It's an open exploration of music and the soul

Centered around the creative powerhouse of Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy, this group has been making superbly uplifting psychedelic techno and ambient music since their inception in 1990. Collaborations include The Orb and Eat Static and they are also one of the few techno groups to widely embrace the sound of the good old GEETAR. Their live show is Floydesque in its scope complete with lights, strobes, and backdrops - but no flying beds or pigs. Essentially deep and stimulating psychedelic party music, for those who know how to have a good time

Active since 2008, Calibro 35 enjoy a worldwide reputation as one of the coolest independent bands around. During their career, they were sampled by Dr. Dre on his Compton album, Jay-Z, The Child of lov & Damon Albarn; they shared stages worldwide with the likes of Roy Ayers, Muse, Sun Ra Arkestra, Sharon Jones, Thundercat and Headhunters and as unique musicians they collaborated with, amongst others, PJ Harvey, Mike Patton, John Parish and Stewart Copeland and Nic Cester (The Jet). Described by Rolling Stone magazine as “the most fascinating, retro-maniac and genuine thing that happened to Italy in the last years”, Calibro 35 now count on a number of aficionados worldwide including VIP fans such as Dj Food (Ninja Tune), Mr Scruff and Huey Morgan (Fun Lovin’ Criminals) among others.

The band started back in 2008 when Grammy award winner producer Tommaso Colliva (Muse), invited some of the best musicians from the Italian indie scene – Enrico Gabrielli (PJ Harvey, Mike Patton, John Parish), Massimo Martellotta (Stewart Copeland, Adrian Younge), Roberto Dragonetti, Fabio Rondanini (John Parish, Daniel Johnston) – to record some Italian golden age soundtracks. What started as a studio b-side project evolved in a full time band able to release many heavily acclaimed albums.

Lips Choir – London’s trans-inclusive feminist pop choir return to the EartH theatre stage for a glittering night of fierce harmony, joyful protest and unapologetic celebration. Expect signature LIPS perfection — from Chappell Roan, Alanis Morissette and Robyn, to garage mash-ups, Beyoncé and a festive singalong like no other.

This is more than a show. It’s a party. It’s a protest. It’s a reminder that joy is radical — and that collective voices can dismantle oppressive systems.

This year, we're pumped to be joined by Eula (she/her, fka SHANDY)! Eula is founder of GAYTORADE, a retired bagpiping prodigy and London-based, Scottish, transexual anarchist river dyke. She has played a range of gigs like Field Maneuvers, Leatherette, Camp Trans, Secret Valley Fest and BODY SWAP, toured Brazil and featured on Voices, Pocket Radio, EHFM, Reprezent Radio and Function (São Paulo).

Formed in 2009, Lips Choir has grown from a small group of friends who loved to sing, to a 100-strong musical force to be reckoned with. Led by dynamic musical director Jessie Maryon Davies, Lips were handpicked by Alison Goldfrapp to perform alongside her at the Royal Albert Hall, where Goldfrapp described them as “Great singers with a wonderful musical sensibility.". Other highlights of the last 15 years include performances at Mighty Hoopla, Bestival, Camp Bestival and Wilderness Festival plus sell-out shows at Earth Hackney, the Coronet and Clapham Grand. Lips is a women’s choir for people who identify as female, trans and gender non-conforming.

Kirollus [All Night Long]

If you see Eleonora Zouganeli on stage, you will never forget it that is for sure. It is also inevitable to want to live it again. She is undoubtedly a star performer, with numerous hits that have reached no1 in Greece’s airplay list and her wide range of repertoire have put her in the position of top performing artists of her generation. She is passionate on stage when she sings ballads she loves or when she performs popular laika songs; she is a rock star at one moment and then she becomes a pop idol. She is jazzy sometimes and a serious leading vocalist next to very important composers. Her theatrical background being a gradute of Greece’s National Theatre School adds to her artistic qualities and she has received apotheotical reviews when she played Edith Piaf and performed her songs at the National Theatre in Greece a few years ago. She enjoys great popularity in Greece and surely is among Greece’s top favorite artists.

A festive edition of If I Speak, the podcast where Ash Sarkar and Moya Lothian-McLean sort the personal from the political.

Ash and Moya will be joined by very special guest Jordan Stephens – musician, actor and bestselling author of Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak & Dogs, in which the Rizzle Kicks star unpacks the turbulence and trauma that came with growing up in the public eye. He’ll be talking to Ash and Moya about what it means to be a modern man as well as answering some of your dilemmas.

The conversation will begin at 7.30pm and will be followed by a social in the bar.

What is now the beautiful venue EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) was once a long-forgotten hidden treasure which the team renovated and opened to the public again in 2018. 

With a jaw-dropping art deco theatre, an atmospheric hall for live music and club nights plus a lively, vibey bar; it’s a venue of three parts, all with different and distinct personalities. 

For a venue that is relatively new in the London landscape, it’s already made a big impact, with musicians like Self Esteem, Idles, Foals, Little Simz, Beastie Boys, Peggy Gou and many more coming through, plus a wider arts programme featuring top comedians, talks, live podcasts and experiential events.

Though the venue retains its art-deco looks and heritage, their set-up is modern and forward thinking, being one of the few venues in the world which permanently houses L-Acoustics immersive soundsystem “L-ISA”, making for unparalleled sonic experiences.


EartH Kitchen is open for drinks before and after events in EartH Theatre. You can also grab a bite from SHUK; (the street food pop-up from Borough Market), open from 18:00 - 20:30 before all EartH Theatre shows - offering delicious stuffed pitas and shawarma-salted fries.
