The Maytals formed in the 1960’s and updated their name to Toots and the Maytals for their debut album ’Sweet And Dandy’ in 1969.

One of the best known ska and rocksteady groups, they also are known for the first use of the word ‘reggae’ in a song on their 1968 single ‘Do The Reggay’.

Frederick ‘Toots' Hibbert was considered a reggae pioneer who was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 greatest singers of all time.

Known for classic reggae songs such as ’54-46 Was My Number’, ‘Monkey Man’, ‘Pressure Drop’, ‘Funky Kingston’, ‘Broadway Jungle’, ‘Bam Bam’, ’Time Tough’ and 'Reggae Got Soul’, Toots and the Maytals are now fronted by Toots’ daughter Leba Hibbert, who has released her own recordings and worked with Sly & Robbie, Jimmy Cliff and more.

We have a dedicated seated accessibility platform which is located on the right-hand side of the stage. This position offers a good clear view of the stage, step-free venue access via a ramp and an accessible toilet on the same level.

Due to current limitations, we can only offer space for 2 access seats, each with an additional companion. These can be purchased on a first-come first-served basis and are named 'accessibility seating'.

How can I get a PA ticket?

The main entrance to the venue is in Pool Valley coach station. Upon arrival go straight to the front of the queue and let a member of our security team know that you are on the accessibility list. A trained member of staff from the venue will escort you to the entrance that you require and guide you through the building.

What if I require step-free access to the venue?

Unfortunately, the venue does not have any on-site parking. There are Blue Badge holder parking bays located in Little East Street / Bartholemews, which are 130 meters from the accessible step-free East Street entrance.

Is there disabled parking?

What if I require accessible toilets?

Guide or Assistance dogs are welcome in the venue. You may be asked to provide ID or your ADUK booklet, and we require that all assistance dogs have adequate PPE including a hi-visibility coat, goggles, and ear defenders. Please reach out to the venue directly if you have any specific questions.
