New York group the Pains of Being Pure at Heart started out following the classic indie pop formula of pairing romantic, hooky songwriting with neurotic fuzz guitar.

Principle songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Kip Berman's particular knack for complex melodies and emotionally resonant songwriting helped the band stand out, and they evolved from scrappy noise pop beginnings to slicker, stadium-ready production by the time of their fourth album, 2017's The Echo of Pleasure.

When most bands get round to releasing album number five their sound, weighed down by expectation or having resorted to formula, has generally ossified. It might still sound good and fans will probably lap it up, but the days of adventure and exploration are quite often long gone.

Warmduscher are not most bands. Rather than closing up shop, on album number five – the magical Too Cold To Hold – they are most determinedly opening up. Taking on board the repetitive and polyrhythmic grooves of gqom (an alluring South African take on house music), adding in a dash of hip hop flavours and even jazz, and then harnessing that to their punk-funk, disco pogo, it’s a spellbinding mix that results in their best and most ambitious album to date. You could say they – the wonderful 12-legged groove machine comprised of Clams Baker Jr., Benjamin Romans Hopcraft, Adam J. Harmer, Marley Mackey, Quinn Whalley, and Bleu Ottis Wright – were, in fact, just getting started.

Ozric Tentacles are regarded as one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK’s festival scene, formed during the solstice at Stonehenge Free Festival 1983 going on to become psychedelic staples at Glastonbury and other festivals. The creative vision of multi-instrumentalist Ed Wynne, the Ozrics’ uniquely trippy soundscapes connect fans of progressive rock, psychedelia and dance music culture.

In the 1980s the band built a fan base on the festival circuit and made a series of cassette releases, sold at gigs and via a fan club. Their first label release was Pungent Effulgent in 1989, which was also re-released in the early 2000s, packaged with Strangeitude. This was followed by Erpland (1990), an album dedicated to Erp, a character who appears on many of the band's album artworks. 1991 saw the Strangeitude LP. The track "Sploosh!" was used by BMW in an advertising campaign and became the band's only single. By 1993 the band had grossed over three million dollars, and their Jurassic Shift album reached the top ten of the U.K. album charts.

The band has gone through many line-up changes, with only Ed Wynne (guitar and keyboards) maintaining a constant presence. The sonically illustrated excursion through the musical realms the band have explored has resulted in 17 albums to date, with their latest, Lotus Unfolding, released in their 40th anniversary year. The band maintain their identity and continue to tour worldwide and produce intriguing albums.

How many bands have the career longevity to release ten albums? They might have been perilously close to falling apart on various occasions in their history, but the Dub Pistols have rolled with the punches and are now gearing up to release their tenth album in early 2025.

It’s been a long road travelled, full of twists and turns, but with their legion of faithful fans and numerous collaborators and friends the Dubs are in a better place now than they’ve ever been with a new album, their own festival, a documentary, a book and more international tours on the horizon. These renegade Pistoleros are unstoppable.

Michael Hitches, known to most as 'Mozey' developed a deep love for Drum and Bass in the mid noughties. 2020 saw Mozey truly make his mark with his track Ladykillaz - a modern day DNB classic that cemented him as a key player with an international fan base. He followed this up with a release schedule that reads like a bucket list of modern Drum and Bass labels - Hospital Records, V Recordings, 31 Records, Elevate, Serial Killaz and the list goes on. Matt Berninger is the vocalist and lyricist for Grammy Award-winning band The

National. His songwriting has long garnered praise for its poignant clarity, jagged-

edged wit and intimately emotive melodies. The band’s career spans ten studio

albums, including First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track, both issued in

2023\. Late 2024 saw the release of The National’s first proper live album, Rome.

Together with his wife Carin Besser, Berninger produced the band’s

2013 feature-length documentary Mistaken for Strangers, directed by Matt’s brother

Tom. Outside of The National, Berninger formed EL VY with Brent Knopf

(Menomena) in 2014. The duo released their debut album Return to the Moon the

following year. Berninger’s “gorgeous” (Rolling Stone) solo debut, Serpentine Prison,

came out in 2020, produced by the legendary Booker T. Jones. His second solo

effort, Get Sunk, is due to be released in May 2025.

Berninger is also a visual artist, and spent a decade as a creative director in New

York City. There’s a fluidity between his work as a painter/sculptor and

lyricist/vocalist.

After selling out C2 in January we are very excited to welcome Sasha back to the C2 stage in 2026!

North Wales native Sasha became one of the world's most renowned and popular DJs, known for populist fusions of house, techno, and trance. Starting out in the late '80s as a club DJ, the former Alexander Coe got his first big break when he was hired by the dance club Shelly's to spin and rework popular sounds of the day. It was there that the young DJ found fame with the dance and house crowd, but it wasn't until he started laying down his grooves at the Haçienda and Renaissance that he become known nationally and, eventually, globally.
