A vibrant celebration of past, present and future in electronic music. Six of today’s most exciting sonic innovators offer a resonant testament to the radical imagination of Daphne Oram.

A pioneer of electronic sound, Daphne Oram was a trailblazer before her time, co-founding the BBC Radiophonic workshop and becoming a towering figure in experimental music.

In her centenary year, nonclassical celebrates her exploratory spirit with an evening of music from six of today’s most exciting sonic innovators, including TAAHLIAH, Deena Abdelwahed, Félicia Atkinson, Nwando Ebizie, xname and musical director, Marta Salogni.

These leading gender marginalised composers make use of samples from Oram’s own sound archive, with reel-to-reel tapes, self-built instruments, and the Mini Oramics machine as originally conceived by Oram herself, channelling Oram’s boundary-breaking ethos into genre-defying live performances, each on a living homage to her influence.

A special performance at the Barbican of late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson’s Cinematic Suites. Performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra, the concert will bring to life Jóhannsson’s evocative musical landscapes for three acclaimed films by visionary director Denis Villeneuve: Prisoners (2013), Arrival (2016), and Sicario (2018), celebrating the remarkable collaboration between them.

Balancing jazz, folk and pop melodies in a display of unique virtuosity, Bird celebrates the 20th anniversary of The Mysterious Production of Eggs alongside a full orchestra conducted by Jacomo Bairos.

The GRAMMY-nominated violinist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist returns to Barbican for the first time since 2019 for a complete album performance with lush orchestral textures provided by Britten Sinfonia, closing with a set of fan favorites from his expansive, nearly 30-year catalog.

Since 1997, Bird has released 18 albums and performed around the world, headlining legendary venues like Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Aynur is one of the most prominent Kurdish singers of our times. Her impressive voice and extraordinary musical narration represent the Kurdish music heritage of her cultural roots as a global genre. Her unique voice infuses traditional Kurdish folk music with the contemporary sensibility of Western music. Over the past 25 years, she has created a timeless musical language, combining the treasures of Kurdish traditions with modern arrangements that connect generations and cultures.

Aynur is set for her first UK tour in Spring 2026, where she and her gifted ensemble shall revisit The Barbican, and also cities outside of London for the first time. Since her last performance at the London Jazz Festival in 2023, Aynur released her acclaimed album Rabe (meaning ‘stand-up’ or ‘rise-up’ in Kurdish), which secured the number one position on the Transglobal World Music Chart last year, and is described by Songlines Magazine as “one of her strongest albums”. A tribute celebrating Paco de Lucía's most revolutionary work: the second sextet, with which he redefined flamenco in his final years.

The performance features both a contemporary reinterpretation of his classic repertoire and original compositions that highlight Paco de Lucía’s musical and artistic legacy carried forward by new generations. More than a tribute to the past, the concert projects his legacy into the future – driving the evolution of flamenco and connecting with new audiences and artists around the globe.

The show features David de Jacoba - original member of Paco de Lucía’s septet. Joined by guest artists Josemi Carmona on guitars with Sandra Carrasco's unique vocals integrating influences from jazz and bossa nova. Renowned composer and pianist Chano Domínguez brings his fusion of jazz and flamenco alongside singer Duquende's deep, intuitive, and profoundly authentic sound.

Widely regarded around the world as one of Fado music’s fastest rising stars, Portuguese singer Sara Correia continues to affirm her place as one of the genre’s most powerful and expressive voices. Her acclaimed third studio album Liberdade and her appearances as a judge on The Voice Portugal have cemented her reputation as a leading figure in contemporary Fado.

Sara Correia’s smoky and passionate voice captures love and power, sadness and joy, the city of Lisbon and the Portuguese soul. Inhabiting the space between traditional, dark Fado and its modern, lighter incarnation, her mellifluous toplines are touched by the sensibility of French chanson.

Having made her UK debut at La Linea 2022, she now returns to London as one of the headliners of La Linea 2026, performing her biggest UK show to date.
