**Tall Tall Trees**

Tall Tall Trees is the musical id of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Savino, a pioneer in the realm of experimental, DIY banjo music. Accompanied by his trusty Banjotron 6500, a highly customized, electrified banjo and effects pedal setup, Savino has wowed audiences since the 2009 debut of his self-titled debut album with his eclectic and innovative blend of psychedelic folk, rock and world music. His work seems to actively evade comfortable definition, upon first listen one will recognize the tenderness of Cat Stevens, the melancholy introspection of Elliott Smith, the anthemic psychedelia of Pink Floyd, and a deep abiding respect for Earl Scruggs. Savino often performs solo, showcasing his fleet-footed loop pedal mastery, as well as alongside long-time collaborator and fellow innovator, Kishi Bashi. Tall Tall Trees latest release, A Wave of Golden Things was released in 2020 on Joyful Noise Recordings.

A Wave of Golden Things, his fourth studio album, opens with the distant crow of a rooster and takes off in a dust cloud of swirling banjo, drums and bass. The lead off track, “The Wind, She Whispers,” quickly evolves from a droning mountain melody into full-blown banjo funk, setting the precedent for an album of unexpected turns. Though the banjo is heavily featured, the influence of Pink Floyd, and Cat Stevens can be felt as much as banjo mavericks Earl Scruggs, and Bela Fleck.

**Ashley Monroe:**

Ashley Monroe is a Nashville based singer-songwriter known for her stunningly soulful voice and deeply personal lyrics. Born in Knoxville, TN, she fell in love with music at a young age. After losing her father to cancer when she was a teenager, she moved to Music City with her mother, pursuing a dream that would lead to both solo success and acclaim as a member of the supergroup Pistol Annies. Her songs—honest, raw, and reflective—have captured the hearts of fans and critics alike. In 2015, she received two GRAMMY nominations: one for her duet with Blake Shelton on the hit single "Lonely Tonight," nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and another for her sophomore album, The Blade, which was nominated for Best Country Album. Five years later, the Pistol Annies received their first GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album with Interstate Gospel. Never one to shy away from reinvention, Monroe’s recent work has ventured beyond her country roots, weaving together sounds from Americana to pop and proving her fearless approach to music. “I’ve always felt like the music I make doesn’t have to be just one genre. It’s all the stories, colors, feelings and sounds of who I am. Like a patchwork quilt of my soul.” After overcoming a rare blood cancer in 2021-22, she returns to the studio with renewed strength and passion, crafting her upcoming sixth album set for release in 2025.

Led by Laurel Canyon-based singer-songwriter Jeff Martin, IDAHO are the unsung cult heroes of 90s slowcore. Often grouped amongst post-grunge indie rock pioneers like Low, Songs: Ohia, and Codeine, IDAHO is distinguished by the desert atmospherics of frontman Jeff Martin’s four-string guitar, echoing out his elegant songcraft in a canyon of alien tones and melancholic feedback. Founded in 1992 in Los Angeles by singer/songwriter Martin and lifetime collaborator the late John Berry, IDAHO exemplified an adventurous and original take on the American underground, fusing fuzzed-chord grunge rock, pedal-pushing shoegaze, and post-hardcore experimentalism with an overall ambiance of beautiful despondency. Across its catalogue of now ten full length releases, including 2024’s return, Lapse, its first new album after a thirteen year hiatus, IDAHO has defined modes of longing, mystery, grace, and dreamy-yet-edgy nuance entirely its own. Celebrated as a “brutally beautiful return to form” (Paste), Lapse has ushered in a renaissance for the band, including the career-spanning documentary Traces Of Glory and The Devil You Know vinyl anthology, all together honing in on the muse that ignited more than three decades IDAHO’s canon of deliberate and devastating beauty.
