KINDRED SPIRITS represents the coming together of three of the UK’s most enduring 80’s alternative rock acts to create an unmissable triple bill of dark and atmospheric post punk music in a truly unique East London venue.

Balaam And The Angel: formed in 1984 by the Morris brothers, have performed for 40+ years. They gained mainstream recognition with Virgin Records and "I'll Show You Something Special" (featured in "Trains, Planes And Automobiles"). The band recently released a 4 track EP "Forces Of Evil".

Ghost Dance: formed in 1985 by Anne Marie Hurst (formerly of Skeletal Family) and Gary Marx (founding member of The Sisters Of Mercy), has re-emerged with a lineup of notable alternative rock musicians. The band have recently released a fantastic album of new material "Silent Shout".

Rose Of Avalanche: An English alternative rock band from Leeds formed in 1984. Rose Of Avalanche have been responsible for creating some of the most recognisable and genre defining songs. They recently released "Rose Of Avalanche At The BBC" - a album of tracks that they recorded for the BBC that were transmitted on programmes by John Peel and Janice Long.

We continue our new “Popcorn Nights” programme at Signature Brew with another musical extravaganza.

A German emigrant living in a trailer in Kansas is the victim of a botched sex-change operation. Adapted from the critically acclaimed off-Broadway rock theatre hit, "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" tells the story of the "internationally ignored" rock singer, Hedwig, and her search for stardom and love.

Swamp Booking x Signature Brew presents

ClockDVA are increasingly regarded as one of the seminal founding groups of the Industrial music movement that emerged in 1978 alongside Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire. Over the years, they have produced numerous critically acclaimed albums, including White Souls in Black Suits, Thirst, Advantage, Buried Dreams, Man Amplified, Sign, and last year’s Noesis.

In 2025, Mute Records is reissuing White Souls in Black Suits, originally released on Industrial Records in 1980/81. Early in 2026, Thirst (1981) and Noesis will follow, along with additional remastered albums and new works currently in progress.

ClockDVA will also perform their acclaimed 2025 U.S. set, featuring completely new video works and a special guest appearance by Michael Ward on baritone saxophone

RAMLEH will be performing these throw shows as a full band, showcasing their latest work ‘Hypervigilance’, released earlier this year with many praising it as their best work to date. Ramleh were birthed from the early 80s UK post-punk and industrial ecosphere and finding footing in the embryonic power electronics scene before incorporating rock instrumentation to further explore the landscape of what would come to be described as “bleak psychedelia”, Ramleh continue to challenge and reward even the most adventurous listener.

Mamma Mia! We've put together an 8 piece band to soundtrack everyone's favourite racing game - whilst you have the chance to race on a huge screen!

We're sliding back down the chimney to Juju's Bar & Stage to wrap up an amazing year with a special festive Marioke celebration. Our band will be sleighing all the best bits from Mario Kart through the years. Featuring classic courses, newer tracks and the starman theme - they'll even speed up for the final lap like Santa on a last minute gift rush.

We'll be choosing audience members at random to dash, prance and drift against each other throughout the night for the all important 'Marioke Christmas Cup'!

We'll also have other chances to game as well as DJs spinning epic gaming mashups and Christmas bangers throughout the night.

Lets-a-ho-ho-ho!

Your ticket will guarantee you entry to the venue to experience the band performances. To be in with a chance of racing on the big screen you'll need to turn up for race registration between 7pm-8pm. Our host will pull names at random and you'll need to make yourself known and get to the stage asap!

Will my ticket guarantee me a race on the big screen?

Whilst we welcome a wide range of experienced Mario Kart players to Marioke, our events focus more on the atmosphere created by having an 8 piece band playing along to incredible music from our favourite game, with a smaller focus on the competitive side so please keep that in mind when joining us!

Is this event for serious gamers?

Players will be drawn at random by our host. To be eligible for the draw you'll need to arrive for race registration between 7pm and 8pm. Every round will have 3 players drawn at random (along with the winner from the previous race) - we'll move quickly through this so please stay aware, you'll have 10 seconds to make yourself known to us before we move on to the next pick!

 How will players be selected?

We'll run races based on a 'winner stays on' format so we can get as many people racing as possible. The final will consist of those with the best winning streaks throughout the night.
