New Soil presents The Sound of Surprise feat. Theon Cross x Ill Considered

The London label celebrates 5 years of activity by bringing together its first 2 signings - tuba master Theon Cross and cult trio Ill Considered - for an evening of pure, improvised music. Over 2 halves - Side A and Side B - this one off quartet will be joined by visual artist Vincent De Boer who will create live artwork for each performance in the moment providing a unique visual representation to accompany the music. An utterly unique event not to be missed as it will only happen once! (With thanks to Whitney Balliet for the title).

Coming out of retirement, one of the industry's most flamboyant musical discoveries of the 20 years, Baby Dee is an enchanting song writer, classically trained harpist, circus sideshow veteran, and transgender street legend.

Her infectious cackle and extraordinary talent on piano, harp and accordion has caught her many musical admirers including Will Oldham, Matt Sweeney, Maxim Moston, and Andrew WK, all of whom have produced unique and magnificent albums for her.

Support is from Jacken Elswyth, a London-based folk musician, banjo player, and instrument builder. In her music making she is focused on exploring traditional tunes, developing extrapolations on folk styles and techniques, and investigating drone, ambience, and improvisation within and beyond folk music. She organises the Betwixt & Between tape series as one avenue of these investigations. She plays and records solo and in collaboration - with Shovel Dance Collective, Sullow, and others. She also builds and repairs banjos and other instruments, with a focus on folk craft and vernacular styles. This practice and these instruments inform and facilitate her music making.

Finessekid is a young rapper from South London making serious waves in the UK scene. Emerging in 2024 through viral snippets and cyphers, he quickly built a reputation for sharp wordplay, infectious hooks, and cutting boasts, earning co-signs from the likes of Skepta. In July 2025, he released his self- titled debut EP Finessekid, marking the next step in his fast-rising career.

A version of james K was born. Comprised of bones, reactive metals and a larynx with freckled eyes that catalyzes that mix, she can now see through all the schemes. This is the truth. When she chews gum, it’s not clear which one of her personas does it. Since their first release in 2013, describing them separately is grunt work as they switch places, cosplay each other and would most likely lull you into a lonesome dream. Together, they know how to produce, sound, film and edit. Thus, they are brought to the table, performing and DJing in clubs and theaters, along composers and children alike. She has performed in festivals and venues such as Dekmantel, Sustain Release, Mutek, iii Points, and Nowadays.. In recent years she has shared the stage with james Ferraro, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Yves Tumor, Morton Subotnick, Nick Leon, and Priori, among many others.

She has released with labels such as AD93, Incienso, PAN, iDEAL, Dial, UNO, among others, and started her label She Rocks! in 2015. Her collaboration with hoodie, a 10” titled ‘Scorpio,’ was released in summer 2023 via AD 93, landing on numerous EOTY lists. She followed up with another single, trip-hop gem, ‘Blinkmoth (July Mix),’ which has garnered similar attention, landing at number 2 on Resident Advisor’s ‘Best Tracks of 2024,’ and numerous other EOY lists, the former publication naming her producer of the year. K has been a resident on NTS, with her show, ‘Trip Lick,’ since 2019, and she has provided mix’s for series such as Dekmantel, Crack and Fact. She is sought after for her signature magnetic vocals, lyricism and production and, through collaborations, has created critically acclaimed music with artists such as Moin, Fergus Jones + Huerco S., Priori, Special Guest DJ, Yves Tumor, Drew McDowall, LEYA, and many others. A night of Oscar Jerome’s music reimagined for a special ensemble containing some of London’s finest musicians. Featuring Lucinda Chua on Cello, Raven Bush on violin, Jihad Darwish on double bass, Richie Sweet on percussion and Ben Grose on drums, you can expect a unique journey from acoustic to electric with as yet unheard arrangements of music from his most recent album ’The Fork’, its predecessor ’The Spoon’ and more.

As the name suggests, the tracks that make up Snapped Ankles’ Hard Times Furious Dancing album were designed for live performance. Or more specifically to make people move as if their lives depend on it. Honed at the band’s Forest Rayve club nights throughout 2024 and released in 2025 - it marked a new era for the woodwose.

Battle cries echo through the forest - “People of principle rise up!” As you approach the clearing, you can feel the bass through your feet and in your chest. Green lasers cut through the mist as gabba breaks collide with rabid howls. It’s a heaving sweaty mess. There’s no time to think before you’re onto the next one. Hands in the air, woodwose in the crowd, head torches set to stun.

TaliaBle is a North London based, Punk Rapper and Visual Artist who is prized as thee go to underground circus; To experience a world full of surplus WONDER, surrealism and raw stories. Gaining the attention from i.D magazine, Fred Perry Subculture as well as headlining a Late at Tate (Tate Britain) show. TaliaBle has been hailed as ‘exciting, experimental and punk as hell.’ From 100 Club to Keephush, Round House, Outbreak Festival, KOKO and Pickle Factory TaliaBle is carving a yellow brick road through the underground scene proving her intention of ‘utilising music as a soundscape catalyst for imaginary world building….’. Her music is a place.

Crosstown Concerts present Orbit

Five years have passed since the now 30-year-old producer Marcel launched his orbit project. In his early twenties, he moved to Berlin and began working there as a music producer. But the noise of big city life didn't bring him what he was looking for. He moved back to his hometown, back to the Weser river, into nature, into his circle of friends.

Here he found his peace and artistic freedom. This is how a project came into being that was allowed to grow organically, without rushing. And that's exactly how it sounds: with a soundscape of intimate acoustic sounds, dreamily distorted vocals, and atmospheric synths, orbit has found his way to express inner dream worlds and connect them with impressions from the small town.

ERASERHEAD XIU XIU is an exploration of the sonic and visual universe that is Eraserhead! In 2016 with the blessing of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti, compelling experimentalists Xiu Xiu released and toured the surprisingly successful album and concert Plays the Music of Twin Peaks. Out of respect and deference to the beloved series the band decided to put the concert to rest in 2018. After the recent, untimely passing of David Lynch Xiu Xiu began to receive several high profile requests to revive their interpretation of this iconic music. However, Xiu Xiu have decided instead to go deeper. 

Eraserhead Xiu Xiu is new a live concert with accompanying film that uses field recordings, concert specific homemade instruments, organ, modular synths, vocals, flashlights, electrical interference and elements of musique concrete to express the bizarre emotionality, conflicted sexuality, relentless darkness and singularly unsettled moonscape of this most incredible of midnight masterpieces. The original sound design and score by Alan Spelt and Lynch serve as guide wires to Xiu Xiu's sonic expansion of how they have been affected by them as fans and musicians. Eraserhead Xiu Xiu is an art installation, an exploded tribute to a cinematic triumph and an epitaph to an idol, as intense, odd and curious as you’d want it to be.
