In the strange margins of the midwestern punk matrix, far from the micro genre divinations of ‘egg-’, or ‘chain-’, the disappointingly codified consensus sounds of post-punk in dour coffee shops everywhere, arrives Clickbait. The band’s members are creative workers with nonstop energy - setmaker/stylists, toy designers, poets, non-standard record shop owners - and their combined talents create a live show - like an avant-garde musical revue with Bauhausian costumes and popping colors - as a lo-fi Gesamtkunstwerk. More so than any other band, Clickbait have a personal focus on the obscure insights of punk’s suppressed and underheard histories, and their willingness to travel deep into their music’s defiled archive has led them to a signature sound. Here, a formally strict rhythm section gives way to spontaneous aesthetics in guitar and voice. Sandra’s commanding voice is in the thick of it all - playacting, yelling pissed, rehashing neurotic monologues we are not supposed to hear. We decided to cut this record live, unfussily, without much computational processing, in pursuit of a raw sound ideal. A pleasure!

We're throwing a Christmas party, in the only way we know how - putting on a couple of our favourite live bands! This time we're at The Victoria in Dalston and we'll be joined by This Is The Deep and Dreamwave for a one-off double headline show.

This Is The Deep is a London-based project that merges music, immersive sets, and animation into a singular world of sound and imagery. Founded by visual artist and songwriter Ranny Macdonald, the 9 piece band's compositions are deeply rooted in the songcraft of 50's and ’60s pop classicism and are presented with cinematic arrangements of cascading horns, strings, percussion, and synth, combining orchestral folk and garage rock, with a lushness recalling the Smile-era Beach Boys and Leonard Cohen's Death of A Ladies Man.

Bristol’s Dreamwave have sold out various headline tours in the UK & EU, and performed at festivals including Glastonbury, The Great Escape, Supersonic’s Block Party (FR), Left of the Dial (NL), Dot2Dot, Simple Things & Stowaway. New releases see the band double down on their exploration into the vast world of genres that fall under the ‘Neo-Pyschedelia’ umbrella; usually pushing and pulling between Garage Rock and Dream Pop.

Alastair Power and Alice Sheridan's Bristol-based punk-tinged darkwave outfit Strange Futures bring dark beats, arresting basslines and ethereal melodies together with disarming lyrics. Having supported artists such as Drab Majesty, S Y Z Y G Y X, Traitrs, Ductape, and Dancing Plague, they are quickly gaining a reputation for an energetic and intense live show. Following the release of Night Errors EP and remixes by Propter Hoc and OWLS, a new single is due for release in December 2025.

Equal parts Punk, Metal, Pop, Shoegaze and Cabaret, the critically-acclaimed underground sextet, Descartes a Kant (Guadalajara, Mexico) have made a real name for themselves as an otherworldly, unpredictable theatrical live act. So much so that even the Wall Street Journal chimed to say that “trying to describe their music is to do it a disservice. It’s loud, racy, incredibly imaginative, sophisticated, funny and wild; it’s as if the Yeah Yeah Yeahs fronted Albert Ayler with Frank Zappa conducting”. They’re considered one of the leading lights in the vibrant, ever-evolving Mexican experimental underground and are now poised to gain greater international acceptance.

Lead by strong female characters, their earlier two releases Paper Dolls (an intense and bipolar short song hardcore album, ode to multiple personality) and Il Visore Lunatique (a tribute on psychiatric disorders that goes from hip-hop to a bizarre broadway style musical) led them to perform and thrill both club and festival audiences all over the world – including Mexico, USA, Russia, Brazil, etc – and share bills with The Melvins, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, Explosions in the Sky and Slayer.

Descartes to Kant returns this 2023 with a new studio album titled After Destruction. Soon to be released on September 29th in all formats, this conceptual material proposes a narrative arc exploring the cycles of existential creation and destruction. After Destruction portrays psychic discomfort in a compulsively hyper-communicative but emotionally isolated society, with a retro-futuristic aesthetic, destructive guitars, synthesizers and soulful melodies. ​

Lampooning contemporary emotional consumerism, the band integrates an automaton character into their lineup: The DAK, an innovative machine designed to repair emotional damage, which appears through interludes both on the album and in the live act. Looking to restore your life after a catastrophe? Turning your pain into a work of art has never been easier.

The first single, the album's namesake, was released July 27th on all platforms, in addition to its respective video clip directed by Gamaliel de Santiago and choreographically designed by Mauricio Rico, as well as a second single "A Catastrophe" released on August 31st, with a lyric video animated by Nespy5euro.

Kontravoid’s masked mystique has remained for over a decade. Ever since the release of his self-titled LP in 2012, the Canadian-born, Los Angeles-based Cameron Findlay has perfected dark pop with his oeuvre that teeters between the EBM, electro and goth genres. His productions, such as 2019’s “Too Deep” and 2021’s “Faceless,” dive to the most derelict corners of foggy, strobe-lit clubs: there is no choice but to dance. But there is an uncanny softness and obvious songwriting ability to compose heart-wrenching songs that are both captivating and drenched in melancholy—2018’s “Undone” has been a fan favorite since it came out on Berlin’s Fleisch Records. Onstage, Kontravoid demands the audience’s attention with his powerful performance that balances his specific concoction of harsh beats with his signature bass line rhythmic patterns. He’s toured alongside Boy Harsher, ADULT., Drab Majesty and Hide, and has remixed the likes of Schwefelgelb and Kris Baha. Truly a man of the shadows, Kontravoid is an unparalleled fixture in the dark electronic arena.

Stella Rose recently arrived in London for a sold-out solo live performance at The Shacklewell Arms as part of her UK/European tour, which also included a sold-out night in Paris. Her new EP Hollybaby follows the release of her acclaimed 2023 debut album, Eyes of Glass.

The Hollybaby EP was recorded alongside producer Yves Rothman. It invites listeners into deeper realms of Stella Rose’s dark and otherworldly lyrical poetry, emboldened with gritty soundscapes and introspective ruminations. The title track sets the ominous tone from the offset, with brooding guitars and hauntingly delivered vocals. ‘MS.45’ continues in a similar vein with its fiery metaphorical imagery, while ‘Beautiful Twentysomethings’, as Stella Rose describes, offers “a portrait of youth and the nativities of beauty in chaotic places”. ‘Drugstore Romeo’ concludes the EP with a contrast in sound, showcasing Stella Rose’s expansive vocal range with soaring vocal melodies which pair pensively with lyrics surrounding drug addiction on the streets of NYC. The writing process saw Stella Rose intentionally drift from familiarity. Not only did she shift from her native New York to Los Angeles whilst recording, she also adopted a more urgent style of writing. Each day reached 100+ degrees as Hollybaby came together during the hottest week of the summer in LA. Both Stella Rose and her producer Yves fed off that uncomfortable heat in the studio, which contributed heavily towards the EP’s visceral identity.

Bibi Club is the musical project of Adèle Trottier-Rivard on vocals and keyboard, and Nicolas Basque on guitar. The pair named themselves “Bibi Club” for the discotheque in their living room, where their “bibis”—loved ones—come to dance.

Their debut album, Le Soleil et la Mer (2022) has made Bibi Club one of Quebec's most captivating bands. Acclaimed across continents, they earned the title of Breakthrough artist at the 2022 GAMIQ Awards, a nomination for Discovery of the Year at the ADISQ Awards, and a spot on the Polaris Music Prize long list. Le Devoir named it one of the best albums of the year while Les Inrocks, Magic Magazine, Libération, also celebrated it. The duo then appeared in Les Inrocks' ranking of the best albums of the year, in Tsugi's ranking of the 10 revelations of the year and was supported by Steve Lamacq show on BBC6 Music.

With Feu de Garde (2024) they expanded their sound with darker textures and luminous synths, earning them, once again, nominations at the ADISQ Awards and a nomination on the Polaris Music Prize short list, in addition to being celebrated as one of FNAC's albums of the month and receiving solid reviews from MOJO, Télérama, Record Collector, Uncut, and more. Their hypnotic and spellbinding live performances have shone at SXSW, The Great Escape Festival, Focus Wales, MaMA Festival, Osheaga, as well as stages in Brazil, Germany, and Canada. They have also opened for Blonde Redhead, Pomme, and November Ultra, among others. Their next album, Amaro, will be released in February 2026 on Secret City Records.

Bibi Club

After 15 years away, An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump return to the stage with renewed power and urgency, and the same uncompromising spirit that made them one of London’s most fearless underground bands.

Formed in 2008 and named after the Joseph Wright of Derby painting, the band broke boundaries from the start — with no designated front person, drummer or bassist, and an instinctive approach to switching roles mid-performance. Each member’s voice and instrument carries equal weight, creating a sound that is communal, raw and rhythmically hypnotic.

Composed of British-Filipino twin sisters C-Bird and X-Bird, and D-Bird, who is of British Nepalese–Indian descent, the band channel no wave, punk, soul and grunge into a stripped-back fusion of bass, drums and voice that evokes both ritual and rebellion.

An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump have previously collaborated with Steve Albini on an unreleased album, and recorded EPs with Steve Mackey (Pulp) and Tim Burgess (The Charlatans). Their performances have been described as magnetic, confrontational, and impossible to categorise.

The band will play a headline show on Thursday 23 April 2026 at The Lexington, with a new single set for release in April 2026. The event is promoted by CLUB.THE.MAMMOTH.

Lorelle Meets The Obsolete is the sonic partnership of Lorena Quintanilla and Alberto González, a duo originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, now based in Ensenada, Baja California. Since forming in 2011, they have forged a reputation as one of Latin America’s most vital and visionary acts—drifting from heavy psych into post-punk, noise, avant-pop, and electronic minimalism.

Their early albums On Welfare and Corruptible Faces caught the attention of the international psych scene, leading to their signing with UK label Sonic Cathedral in 2013. From there, Lorelle Meets The Obsolete embarked on over a decade of relentless touring across Mexico, the US, UK, and Europe, performing at festivals including LEVITATION, SXSW, Liverpool Psych Fest, NRMAL, and Hipnosis.

Over the years, their sound has morphed dramatically. From the hazy, swirling textures of Chambers and Balance, to the raw experimentalism of De Facto—which landed at #5 on Piccadilly Records’ Albums of the Year—the band has continuously pushed forward. Their sixth album Datura (2023) marked a radical shift: a concise, bass-driven post-punk statement that earned critical acclaim and placed #18 on Rolling Stone’s Best Spanish-Language Albums of the Year.

Lorelle’s collaborators over the years have included Emma Anderson (Lush), Pye Corner Audio, and Dälek, and their music has won admiration from icons like Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins. They’ve recorded live sessions for BBC Radio 6 (Marc Riley) and KEXP, further cementing their cult status.

With lyrics that navigate the turmoil of modern life—cultural colonialism, political tension, sleepless nights, and emotional unrest—Lorelle Meets The Obsolete balance venture with confrontation. Their live shows are intense, incendiary experiences, driven by catharsis, distortion, and defiance.

As they prepare to release their seventh album, the band continues to question, dismantle, and rebuild their own sound.
