Vtoroi Ka são uma dupla versátil de Bisqueque, no Quirguistão. Formados em 2017 por dois velhos amigos de escola, Ilya e Sultan, alcançaram sucesso no circuito underground com os seus dois primeiros álbuns de estúdio — o hip-hop orientado Dependence Day (2020) e o mais eclético Serial (2022); mas foi a sua abordagem elegante e ao estilo de Baxter Dury ao pós-punk que os tornou virais.

Após o lançamento dos singles do seu terceiro álbum, Piggy Ride (2024), o número de seguidores disparou para mais de 200 mil ouvintes mensais no Spotify em menos de um ano. A sua base de fãs está maioritariamente na Ásia Central, na Rússia e em países com comunidades de língua russa, mas têm vindo a conquistar um sucesso internacional crescente graças à sua atmosfera envolvente.

Vtoroi Ka are a genre-hopping duo from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Formed in 2017 by old school friends Ilya and Sultan, they reached underground success with their first two studio albums — the hip-hop oriented Dependence Day (2020) and the more eclectic Serial (2022). But it was their slick, Baxter Dury-esque take on post-punk that sent them viral.

After the release of singles from their third album, Piggy Ride (2024), their following exploded to more than 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify in less than a year. Their fanbase is largely in Central Asia, Russia, and countries with Russian-speaking communities, but increasingly they’re earning wider international success thanks to their enveloping vibe.

Key to their pan-national appeal is their ability to combine musical talent with an instinct for portraying their irreverent personalities on camera. The sharp-humoured music videos and tongue-in-cheek promos they produce on social media are as sensational as their endlessly inventive music.

Vtoroi Ka’s commitment to the Kyrgyzstani capital, where they were raised, is essential to their identity. In contrast to many budding production duos vying for attention in the global music scene, they aren’t trying to pose in major metropolises — instead, they film their music videos in mountainous Bishkek, artfully staying true to themselves and portraying their vibrant corner of the world with seductive charm.
