ÖLÜM is LA’s only known Anatolian Rock group. Paying homage to Turkish legends like Erkin Koray, Boris Manćo, Mogollar, etc., the four piece band represent a postmodern iteration of the Anatolian genre that inspired generations of rockers.

Flavourette is four friends vibing at the crossroads of Alphabet City and Studio City. We’re talking Cochemea Gastelum, the saxophone supreme from Daptone Records; Guillermo E. Brown, aka Pegasus Warning, who laid it down on The Late Late Show; Ibanda Ruhumbika, the tuba don from Colbert’s early days; and Ray Mason, the trombone MVP everybody calls when it’s go-time.

The sound? It’s a whole mood—raw, introspective, loud when it needs to be, quiet when it doesn’t. Flavourette doesn’t just play music; they shape it, stretch it, and let it breathe.

Outside World is the acclaimed Los Angeles experimental jazz duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Henry Solomon and Logan Kane. They released their third in a trilogy of mind-bending opuses, Outside World 3, on April 5th, 2024 via Minaret. It features 12 original compositions alongside four generations of jazz mentors and friends, including Roy McCurdy, David Binney, Louis Cole, Chris Fishman, Jon Hatamiya, Luca Mendoza, Paul Cornish, and Benjamin Ring.

This time, the spotlight shines on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton, who’s not just an expert at making us laugh but also co-owner and co-creator of the killer Irish American whiskey brand Four Walls.

Glenn will join What We’re Drinking host Dan Dunn and spirits expert Brad Japhe for a lively chat about whiskey, life, and the iconic comedy series that made him a household name. Keeping the energy high as emcee is none other than Mike Dawson from The Adam Carolla Show. Plus, comedian Jimmy Bradley will be making a special appearance to keep the laughs rolling.

Ethio Cali is a Los Angeles-based Ethio-Jazz ensemble, led by Grammy-winning trumpeter, arranger, and composer Todd M. Simon. The ensemble’s sublime sound is inspired by the golden age of Ethiopian music of the 1960’s and 70’s, filtered through a lens that is uniquely Los Angeles. Acknowledging the diverse musical foundations of Ethio-Jazz, the ensemble also draws inspiration from the rhythmic and melodic textures across Africa, Central/Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean. An important part of the Los Angeles arts community for over 13 years, Ethio Cali has performed at Grand Performances, LACMA, the Broad Stage, Levitt Pavilion, the Blue Whale and many other top venues.

Every decade or so a new band comes to the forefront and changes the course of music, this decade is no exception and sees the rise of one of the most talented, diverse collectives of musicians, writers, composers and producers otherwise known as Katalyst. The brainchild of world-renowned drummer/composer/ producer Greg Paul, this nine- piece ensemble hailing from Inglewood, CA showcases an eclectic mix of experimental contemporary jazz.

The collective comprises of pianist Brandon Cordoba, saxophonist David Otis, Grammy- award winning trombonist Jonah Levine, keyboard/pianist Brian Hargrove, percussionist Ahmad Dubose, uptight bassist Corbin Jones, bass guitarist Marlon Spears and Katalyst founder and drummer Greg Paul.

In 2020 during the height of the pandemic, Katalyst released their critically acclaimed debut album entitled “Nine Lives” a free-spirited instrumental jazz album that truly encapsulates the pulse of Los Angeles. Conceived during impromptu Sunday Jam Sessions at their home base in Inglewood, the title is personal as it documents the lives and fusion of these nine renaissance men, equally yoked through 10 tracks that transport you on musical journey unlike any other.

Upcoming events

Established in 1915 by Italian immigrant, Cesar Menotti, Townhouse is the oldest bar in Venice and one of the oldest bars in the Los Angeles area. Townhouse's live entertainment basement, The Del Monte, was a true speakeasy during Prohibition (1920-1933) and a night-life nucleus, serving many nefarious and infamous characters of the day, masked cleverly by Menotti's grocery store above.

Underneath the rows of produce was a trap door and dumbwaiter that could bring down two guests at a time. Alcohol was brought in by boats from Canada and then smuggled via underground tunnels. Once Prohibition ended in 1933, a staircase was added.
