Regulars at Grow over the last few years, Shedding Histories has progressed step by step into becoming a special event at Grow. They are a dynamic rare groove party set up by selectors Bena & Chameleonas. It has become known for its focus on creating an open-ended dance featuring diverse sounds from across the spectrum including jazz, psych, reggae, afrobeat and funk. Shedding Histories aims to tell stories through music by exploring sounds and their roots. Come with an open heart and mind, and you’re sure to leave enriched.

Long-time friends and devoted music collectors since their teens, CSGRV and Demacque have built a deep connection through a shared love of soulful, rhythmic music with real feelings. Both have a profound fascination with music that makes you move and brings those good vibes, no matter the setting — whether at a warehouse, club, or house party.

Pulling influences from a wide diaspora of sounds, their sets traverse anything from MPB, samba funk, disco, jazz, Afro-highlife, Latin, 90s hip-hop, deep house, and techno. Uncovering hidden gems you might not know but will instantly love, they craft eclectic sets that keep you moving and broaden your musical horizons.

Canalside Sessions with Williams Cumberbache is a regular weekend treat that brings world-class live music right to Hackney Wick. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1-4 pm, master conga player Williams Cumberbache, with over 30 years in the UK music scene and collaborations with legends like Goldie and Björk, takes to the pontoon stage for a monthly residency with a project called Septabeat

Septabeat is a dynamic trio—Sam Gardner (drums), Lawrence Wilkins (bass/electronics), and Williams Cumberbache (percussion/MPC 2K XL)—bringing the exciting fusion of traditional and urban rhythms. Taking place on January 12th, 19th, and 26th. Don’t miss these engaging, collaborative sessions.

We're inviting you to experience the magic of our weekly Thursday Jazz Jam—completely free! Since 2016, Stratos, our resident jazz band led by the talented and Mercury Prize-nominated Rio Kai, has held down this popular night, bringing together fans and musicians for an electrifying exploration of jazz.

Every week, Stratos dives into both the classic roots and boundary-pushing edges of jazz, creating a unique space where improvisation and connection take center stage. With Rio Kai on bass, Dom Pusey on saxophone, Mike De Souza on guitar, and Zoe Pascal on drums, each set offers something new—a true celebration of live, evolving music.

David (The Orbalist, Hackney Rhythm) hosts a jam that’s open, inclusive, and entirely pay-to-play free. This is a space where synths, sequencers, MPCs, and E-drums meet guitars, basses, keys, and acoustic drums.

The magic began when David met Alessandro Corda, a versatile musician, DJ, and producer. Sharing a passion for music and a vision for community-driven creativity, Alex became a key collaborator. From managing the stage to driving improvements behind the scenes, Alex has helped elevate the jam into something truly special.

Join us on the first Sunday of every month. Whether you're a seasoned performer or a newcomer, this is your space to explore. Free admission, a safe atmosphere, and a welcoming vibe make it the perfect spot for everyone—keyboard virtuosos, beatmakers, and vocal storytellers alike.

Our stage has seen everything: the raw vocals of new singers, the experimental loops of producers, and performances by talents like Charlie Stacey, Qoha, George The Poet, and more. Wah Wah 45s returns to Grow for a soulful, freestyle session with live performances from Anushka, supported by rising star Pollena, plus DJ sets from Des Frutas and label boss Dom Servini.

Anushka, the duo of Victoria Port and Max Wheeler, first gained attention with their debut album Broken Circuit and follow-up Yemaya, blending UK club culture with Jazz and Soul influences. Their upcoming album Ancestry pushes their sound further, inspired by legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Sampha, and Wu-Tang Clan, marking their best work to date.

Pollena, an emerging London-based indie dance artist, has made waves with her unique live sets, blending energetic performances with live instrumentation and experimental vocals. With collaborations across labels like Ninja Tune and Foreign Family, her music has earned praise from tastemakers like Lauren Laverne and Giles Peterson. 2025 promises new releases with artists like Laurence Guy and Gilligan Moss.

DJ Des Frutas brings his uplifting, sun-soaked house, disco, and tropical grooves to the mix, while Dom Servini, a veteran of the eclectic music scene, keeps the vibe flowing with his expansive knowledge and experience. Don't miss this night of forward-thinking, soulful music!

Experience a unique night brought to you by London-based promoter Sounds Between and sitarist/producer Tommy Khosla. Baila! weaves threads of club culture with improvised instrumental music, DJ sets, and global sounds, creating a space for connection and celebration.

Rooted in the global underground, Baila! presents an eclectic lineup blending Asian underground, Afro, Latin, UK jazz, and electronica. Expect boundary-pushing performances from genre-fluid musicians and DJs.

Imperio Bamba

Formed in North London in 2016, Imperio Bamba creates a unique "chichafrodelic" sound blending chicha, Afro-Peruvian, and psychedelic rhythms rooted in their Latin American heritage. Their music tells immigrant stories, fostering connection and community. With electrifying energy, their performances will get you moving and create a space where body and mind feel free.

Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze)

A passionate music enthusiast and collector, Paskal focuses on vintage sounds from the 60s and 70s across Jamaica, the Caribbean, and Latin America. His "Cool Breeze" nights explore tropical American music, from the Peruvian Andes to the Colombian coasts, blending African-inspired drums, Jamaican bass lines, and hypnotic Mexican melodies.

Ritmo del Barrio

Since 2021, this London-based label has been dedicated to reissuing Peruvian Chicha classics by legendary artists like Cuarteto Universal and Los Shapis. Collaborating with iconic Peruvian labels, Ritmo del Barrio keeps the rich heritage of vintage Latin American music alive.

Gionatan Scali, an East London-based musician and visual artist from Turin, blends jazzy rock, psychedelic, and lo-fi influences. With two acclaimed LPs and singles like "Perfect Town" and "Ride On," Gionatan's genre-defying music has captivated listeners worldwide. Don’t miss the live debut of his new single "Modern Man," available as a limited edition 7" vinyl (only 200 copies).

Granfergo, a trio of brothers blending South American cumbia, African funk, surf rock, and soul, offers a cinematic, groove-driven sound. Their music transcends borders, taking listeners on a nostalgic yet original journey through infectious rhythms and melodies.

Renowned for his genre-blending approach, Lazy H merges jazz, electronica, and experimental sounds. A prominent figure in the UK jazz scene, his live performances are a masterclass in improvisation, bridging the organic and electronic worlds.

Onde Ande, a SE London collective, will keep the vibes flowing with Brazilian fusion, 70s roots, jazz, funk, and more, offering a unique journey through global sounds.

N'Calma Collective is back this March 2025 to celebrate their incredible 16th anniversary, and they’re bringing a lineup that’s set to electrify the dancefloor! Expect an unforgettable night of pulsating rhythms, global grooves, and pure energy as Brazilian, Afro, and World music collide in spectacular fashion.

Headlining the night, SOMA SOMA – the 8-piece powerhouse from Bristol – will take you on a sonic journey blending Samba, Bossa Nova, and Highlife with Afrobeat and Soukous. Their hypnotic guitar riffs, pulsating percussion, and soul-stirring horns create an atmosphere that’s both electric and deeply immersive.
