My whole life, I have faced the unimaginable torture of racism. It has been unyielding and suffocating. In fact, the only moments I feel any semblance of freedom is when I imprison myself in my own home. It has ravaged me beyond comprehension.

I have spent too much time accepting people’s definition of MY ART and of ME. I have accepted comparisons to artists I have never listened to, or even been inspired by.

I was afraid the ‘industry’ and its gatekeepers wouldn't let me in, but in truth, I'm more scared of looking in the mirror one day and seeing someone I don't recognise or like very much.

With all due respect, I'm not a rapper. I am not an R&B singer. I am not a soul singer. I am not ‘urban’ or someone making ‘black music’. I make music and I am black!

I am pop, I am cinematic, I am rock, I am punk, I am alternative, I am electronic. Something like Michael Jackson, Future Islands, Prince, Coldplay, FKA TWIGS, or Labrinth - but nothing like any of them or anyone else.

MAUVEY was born as a result of my obsessions with storytelling, songwriting, cinema, and fashion. I was angry and frustrated and happy and grateful and in LOVE and desperate for the world to change. I was all of this, all at once, and so was my music - and it still is. It’s MAUVEY.

Our world is dying of a broken heart. With LOVE we might be able to mend it and each other. That’s what distributing LOVE is.

"David Keenan has been among the most fascinating new Irish artists of the past ten years.

In the making of his new album Crude, he was aiming to return to his roots and embrace a rawer – unflinchingly honest – form of songwriting. The result is a challenging and poetic album which he has released independently through his own label Barrack Street Records".

A songwriter and lyricist who has continued to defy categorization by avoiding the obvious, he has released two previously critically acclaimed albums -"A Beginner's Guide to Bravery" released in 2020, which reached number 1 in the Independent Charts & the 2021 follow up "WHAT THEN?" widely received as a critical triumph.

Other works include a collection of poetry "Soundings of an Unnamed Bird" & the live album "Alchemy & Prose". He has toured consistently for over five years, building a commited live following throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America with notable events including two headline nights in Dublin's Olympia theatre, the main stage of Electric Picnic, residencies in Paris and New York's Irish Arts Centres & most recently writing the music for Evanne Kilgallon's debut play 'AN LÁR'.

Keenan has a way of connecting people in story & song with an inimitable emotional depth that is rarely found. You get the feeling these songs will be sung and referenced long into the future, this is a live gathering not to be missed.

Songs of love, of sofrência, and change from one of the shining hearts of São Paulo: Tim Bernardes. A Latin Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and producer, Bernardes has also collaborated with Fleet Foxes, Tom Zé, David Byrne, Gal Costa, Devendra Banhart, Shintaro Sakamoto, and more. Bernardes has emerged as one of Brazil’s most profound musical talents of his generation, a contemporary artist with deep roots in Brazil’s verdant musical heritage. And finally, his long-awaited second album, the enveloping and expansive Mil Coisas Invisíveis (A Thousand Invisible Things) will be released this summer. Four years after his standout 2017 debut, Recomeçar, Mil Coisas Invisiveis invites us back into Bernardes and his singular world of sound: warm, intimate, emotionally resonant, healing. The album was primarily written while touring with his acclaimed tropicalia-indie group, O Terno. At the start of 2020, the new decade brought about a sense of change in Bernardes as he took a step back from touring and band life to focus on these new songs. The resulting work connects the cosmic dots from Tropicalia and samba to contemporary indie and folk; it’s a generous and intimate moment, meditations of metaphysical transformation in the face of grave uncertainty.

Starting out as the band behind Ian Dury, the Blockheads are a legendary outfit that has grown in stature from the early days of the Stiff tour in 1977, right up to the present day. Backing up Ian Dury’s poetic lyrics, this is the band that brought you ‘Hit Me with your Rhythm Stick’, ‘What A Waste’, ‘Reasons to be Cheerful (Part 3)’, and ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll’, among many others.

Rarely off the road since the demise of Ian Dury in 2000, the Blockheads are still one of the most underrated British bands of all time, with a legion of fans of all ages.

JG Thirlwell + Ensemble is a chamber group project initiated by Thirlwell in 2018. JG rearranged several pieces from the Foetus repertoire and one Wiseblood song with long time collaborator Simon Hanes (Tredici Bacci) for the instrumentation of harp, piano, viola, acoustic guitar/bass and drums. In February of 2019 they played two sold-out shows at National Sawdust in NYC.

The London iteration of the ensemble will include Manorexia alumni Angharad Davies (viola, violin), Tim Parkinson (piano) Joy Smith (harp) and Adam Morris (percussion) along with Thirlwell and Hanes.

A native of Terrell, Texas, Shane Smith made music a full-time pursuit after moving to Austin. A passionate musician and songwriter, Shane soon connected with Bennett Brown, along with other musicians many of whom now make up The Saints. That group includes Bennett on fiddle, Dustin Schaefer on lead guitar, Chase Satterwhite on bass, and Zach Stover on drums.

With a reputation as a high-energy live act with stunning four-part harmonies, Smith follows in the footsteps of such Lone Star songsmiths as Chris Stapleton, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Hayes Carll, and Ryan Bingham. Their first album, Coast, was released in 2013, and two years later came Geronimo, followed by Hail Mary in 2019. “I don’t like just throwing stuff out there. If I’m going to be singing about something every night, I try to make it personal, make it something I can really relate to,” says Smith, the band’s lyricist and primary songwriter. “I like to sing with conviction, an honest conviction.”

Australian-born Londoner Harry Marshall returns to affirm himself as music’s next indie-pop protagonist.

Arriving into 2023 matured and with well-founded confidence, the singer, songwriter and musician hones in a fearless, dominant and assured new sound which sees him take his evolving artistry to the next level.
