For over 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been the quintessential American Blues band. The group’s distinctive and powerful sound manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid via such barnburners as 'Tuff Enuff' and 'Wrap It Up'. Co-founder Kim Wilson, the sole original member, still spearheads the group.

Muddy Waters called Kim Wilson his favorite harmonica player and vocalist. “Muddy Waters was very good to me,” Wilson says. “He almost adopted me. I’ll never forget him.”

Kim Wilson was influenced by Little Walter, George “Harmonica” Smith, Lazy Lester and James Cotton, Bobby “Blue” Bland, B.B. King, Otis Rush, Jimmy Rodgers, and Muddy Waters. Jimmie Vaughan & Kim Wilson founded the Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1974. In 1979, The Fabulous Thunderbirds released their first self-titled album. Primarily blues influenced, it became a cult classic. In subsequent releases, the band started to incorporate more Cajun, rock ‘n roll and soul influences. The album 'T-Bird Rhythm' was produced by Nick Lowe. In 1986, The Fabulous Thunderbirds reached a commercial peak with the album, 'Tuff Enuff'. The single of the same title as well as the singles 'Wrap It Up' and 'Look At That', all went top 40. Nine Below Zero formed in late 1979 from the ashes of Stan's Blues Band. An electrifying live group, the band chose to release their debut album 'Live at the Marquee' (A&M Records, 1980) to showcase the band's considerable talent. 'Live at the Marquee' featured mainly covers of Blues classics from artists such as Otis Rush, Muddy Waters, & Freddie King along with some Nine Below Zero originals. Over the years it has become widely acknowledged as one of the finest live albums ever recorded.

Nine Below Zero are one of the UK's finest Rhythm 'n' Blues groups. Named after the famous Sonny Boy Williamson song, Nine Below Zero have shared the stage with The Kinks, The Who, Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, Squeeze, From The Jam and many more.

THE BLUES SIDE OF FLEETWOOD MAC with Man of the World

Fleetwood Mac were formed in 1967 by guitarist/singer Peter Green. Primarily a blues band in their early years, Fleetwood Mac achieved UK top ten hit singles with 'Albatross', 'Oh Well' and 'The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)'.

Between 1967-1970, Fleetwood Mac were one of the best UK blues bands releasing the albums 'Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac' (1968), 'Mr. Wonderful' (1968). 'Then Play On' (1969), and 'English Rose' (1969).

Alongside that Fleetwood Mac were the backing group on Eddie Boyd's '7936 South Rhodes' album (1968) and 'The Biggest Thing Since Colossus' (1969) with Chicago pianist Otis Spann. An all-star 'Blues Jam In Chicago' album came out in 1969 with Fleetwood Mac performing alongside Otis Spann, Willie Dixon, Shakey Horton, J.T. Brown, Buddy Guy, & Honeyboy Edwards.

Man of the World will be celebrating The Blues Side of Fleetwood Mac along with the life and music of Peter Green, founder of the original Fleetwood Mac. Guitarist Remi Harris will be joined by vocalist Dave Small, bassist Tom Moore and Shane Dixon on drums to perform music from throughout Peter Green’s career.

Anthony Gomes first came to the Blues scene's attention in 2005 when he toured as openikng act for B.B. King. Since then his career has gone to greater heights and he has shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and more. Mud Morganfield is the eldest son of legendary Blues icon Muddy Waters.

Mullti-award-winning artist Mud Morganfield is an established star in the world of Blues music. The eldest son of the legendary Muddy Waters, Mud was brought up surrounded by many of the finest musicians in the Blues. Mud’s singing is firmly in best of traditions of Chicago Blues, but he is also a writer of great new songs and he is backed by some of the best musicians playing today. He is acclaimed by both critics and artists such as Buddy Guy and Jools Holland.

“When I’m up on stage I always feel pops is there with me, and it means so much that I can get on stage and keep his music alive around the world,” Mud says. He has appeared on Later…with Jools and was featured in a TV documentary hosted by Hugh Laurie, with whom he has also appeared on stage in Chicago.

For almost four decades, XTC fans could only dream of witnessing the sensational XTC classic songbook played live. That dream has now become a reality. XTC’s legendary drummer, Terry Chambers, is back on the road with his band EXTC (named and approved by XTC frontman, Andy Partridge).

Emerging out of the post-punk and new-wave explosion of the late 70s. XTC experienced global success, touring with the likes of The Police and Talking Heads. Sadly, their legions of loyal fans would be left in limbo, when in 1982 XTC stopped touring, becoming a studio-based entity.

Lee Rocker made his mark singing, playing, standing on, spinning and rocking his giant upright bass as a founding member (along with Brian Setzer and Slim Jim Phantom), of the Grammy nominated music group The Stray Cats, who sold over 10 million albums, garnered 23 gold and platinum certified records, and were music video pioneers of the MTV.

The Stray Cats had worldwide mega hits “Stray Cat Strut”, “Runaway Boys” and “Rock this Town” and more. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has included “Rock this Town” as one of the 500 most important songs in rock.

From the cover of the Rolling Stone Magazine, to appearing on Saturday Night Live, to headlining the US Festival and touring with The Rolling Stones, Lee Rocker has seen and done it all.In addition to The Stray Cats and The Rolling Stones, Rocker has toured and performed with George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, and John Fogerty.

Lee Rocker has been consistently touring, recording and performing around the globe since 1980 and has cultivated a fanatically loyal following of rockers, rebels and all types of music lovers. He is known for making his upright double bass appear as if it were a lightweight instrument as he spins, throws it in the air, catches and plays it on stages throughout the world. His concert show is a time for him to tell stories about his days on the road and in the music business for the last 35 years – including sharing stories about his adventures lugging the giant piece of equipment around.

Maiden Voyage is a blues rock/heavy metal band hailing from the heart of London's East

Voyage has proven to be a songwriting and performing powerhouse in the London music

scene and will be sure to give you a show you won't forget anytime soon.

Lucky is an alt-rock band that formed in the wake of their frontman’s portrayal of Lucky the

slave in Imperial College’s production of Waiting For Godot, during which his puppy also

named Lucky passed away. Combining their love of folk and progressive-rock, the four piece

have been described as an amalgamation of Can and Jeff Buckley and are certainly not one

to miss.

Records, they still aren’t here to take your shit!

South London singer, songwriter and musician ELI is an alternative artist who combines ethereal harmonic vocals, melodic guitar riffs and syncopated beats to form her own distinctive sound.  ELI is a force in her own right, continuing to build a fanbase of engaging listeners, captivated by her resonant and refreshing musical aesthetic.

Launched in 2007, 229 is a multi-purpose entertainments venue which has played host many gigs, club nights, awards ceremonies, comedy and fashion events, gala dinners and weekend festivals. Managed under the umbrella of the charity, International Students House (ISH), 100% of the profit made by 229 goes directly back support their mission. 229 and ISH believe every young person should have the opportunity to succeed whatever their background. Together with their university partners and supporters, they provide scholarships opportunities, a home and a social programme to enable students to succeed while giving them a place to belong.
