Portals proudly presents an ArcTanGent warmup show, featuring mathrock/postrock stalwarts Alpha Male Tea Party.
Having released their fourth album 'Infinity Stare' in 2020, the band continue on their trajectory of being one of the best bands of their ilk in the UK. We've had AMTP at many Portals shows in the past, including Portals Festival, and they never disappoint. Riffs, hype, eccentricity and melancholy in one incredible bundle.
Joining them from Japan are paranoid void, a instrumental mathrock three-piece, about to release their second album and unleash it on ArcTanGent. Expect intricate instrumentation, occasional frantic energy, and wonderfully lush sounds.
Corey Mastrangelo (Vasudeva) opens the show, all the way from the US. As a musician/producer he blends intricately crafted electronica with vast post-rock, using organic sounds and electronic sources. The whole package encompasses melodic hooks, pop sentimentality, polyrhythmic subtleties, and enrapturing texture.

The London based Mountain Caller, having released with debut album Chronicle I: The Truthseeker in November 2020, have stormed the London prog/post/experimental rock scene and we're excited to have them once again on this tour, originally postponed from Feb 2022.
If one needs a sonic ballpark, think the infectious jamming of Elder and the dynamic cinema-scapes of Mogwai, underpinned by the mantric riffs of Sleep.
Parachute for Gordo combine elements of mathrock and postrock with punky and noisey influences, sometimes abrasive, sometimes euphoric, but always fantastic live. It's a shame they couldn't make the show in Feb 2022, but we're thrilled to be able to host them in September!

Brighton band Poly-Math have never stopped reinventing themselves, and now with Chris Olsen on sax and Josh Gesner on keys, they sound bigger than ever before.
Support comes from off-kilter prog legends Thumpermonkey and a rare performance from A Formal Horse.
DJs will keep the vibes glitchy and the beats pouring until 2am.
