Pompeya is a Moscow band that creates unabashed Pop and New Wave music inspired by likes of 80's classics, from The Cure to Duran Duran. Their debut "Tropical" (2011) and follow up "Foursome" (2012) earned the band significant popularity in their home country, "energetically introducing Moscow’s youth to <..> indie culture" remarked Los Angeles radio station KCRW. The two releases were reissued in 2013 by Mishu, alongside a remix LP that included edits from Jimmy Edgar, Fred Falke, Psychomagik and others. These releases did well among U.S. college radio stations.
The band released their third LP., 'Real' in 2015 via Mishu, mixed by Brian McTear (Local Natives, The War on Drugs) in Philadelphia, and co-produced by Dave Hartely (The War On Drugs) in NYC which been noticed by Stereogum, Entertainment Weekly, Noisey and other outlets. Tobi Lynn - host of LA's Alt 98.7fm - mentioned 'Real' among her Top 10 records of 2015.
The band spent the following years writing songs that eventually became their fourth album, 'Dreamers' in 2018. The album was completely written and recorded in the USA, produced by the band themselves and mixed by Jules de Gasperis (Bleached, James Supercave) in Los Angeles. Pompeya went d.i.y. and released the LP without a record label - as Pompeya Music. In 2019, the band released the 'Songs From The Videos' LP - a collection of singles from 2010-2018 that also exists as an Official Music Video list.
