**BUSH TETRAS**
Flashes of light rarely burn for long. Bush Tetras exploded into New York in 1979 and flamed out just a few years later. Yet somehow this lightning-quick band have risen from their own ashes again and again for four decades. The spark that ignited Bush Tetras tapped into a deep grid of power.
That power can be heard on Rhythm and Paranoia: The Best of Bush Tetras, which features 29 songs across 3 LPs pressed onto 180-gram vinyl and remastered by Carl Saff, plus a 46-page book with never-before-seen photos, an original essay on the band by Marc Masters, and micro essays by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, R&B legend Nona Hendryx, The Clash’s Topper Headon, & more. Upon its’ release in late 2021, the compilation received unanimously good reviews, including from Pitchfork where they scored an 8.4 and were designated Best New Reissue.
For their shows supporting their new box set, founding members Cynthia Sley and Pat Place are joined by R.B. Korbet (King Missile, Pussy Galore) and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), two accomplished New York players who have known the band’s music and founding members for years. This lineup of the band is currently writing a new album which they plan on recording in 2022 as well playing shows across the U.S. and beyond.

**Image Frolics: A Celebration of <i>Dubbed In Glamour</i> (1980)**
Part-lecture, part-performance, “Image Frolics” presents an archival deep dive into Dubbed in Glamour, three-nights of “spectacle and extravagance” orchestrated by renegade art critic and nightlife impresario Edit DeAk in November 1980 at New York’s storied performance space, The Kitchen.
Organized by Sarah Cooper, performance specialist at the Getty Museum, this special pre-show will feature images, video, and live moments that revisit and pay tribute to the radical list of artists and personalities assembled by DeAk who complicated self-image, redefined femininity, and weaponized glamour. In addition to the Bush Tetras, artists who appeared in the original event included John Waters star Cookie Mueller, underground luminaries Anya Phillips, Tina L’Hotsky, Patti Astor, and Chi Chi Valenti, club acts Ex-Dragon Debs, as well as figures like Nan Goldin, Debbie Harry, and Bronx rappers Funky Four + 1.

**Ann Magnuson (with Alejandro Cohen of dublab and percussionist Joe Berardi )**
A consummate creative force whose work has ranged from fronting bands such as Bongwater and Vulcan Death Grip, to acting in film and television, to staging performance art at major museums around the world and maintaining a sustained visual art practice, Magnuson is concocting a special set for the Zebulon stage with dublab’s Ale Cohen and percussionist Joe Berardi that will no doubt showcase her dynamic voice and clever humor.
