Our global sounds series continues with this fresh and vibrant take on the traditional sounds of the Middle East.

Afghan singer Elaha Soroor and award-winning music collective Kefaya join forces for a mesmerizing show at The Jazz Cafe.

With their new album Songs Of Our Mothers they explore a modern take on Afghan folk music filtered through spiritual jazz, dub, electronica and more. It's a multicultural masterpiece celebrating freedom and commonality in music.

London based, Sudanese band The Scorpios open the show. They're a band that melds Arabic rhythms and guitar chops with a raw Eastern funk feel, properly dismantling cultural barriers in pursuit of a unifying rhythmic bliss.

This event is in association with Afghanistan and Central Asian Association, which aims to free refugees and newcomers from the isolating feelings which can come with migration by organising cultural events and day trips for the Afghan and Central Asian community in London.

Presented by The Jazz Cafe.

This is an 18+ event.
