FAQs
Is there a difference between free and paid tickets?
No! The $10 and $0 tickets are the exact same thing.
We are a free entry venue, as it's important to us that music is accessible to everyone. However, we are an independent venue and value paying our artists a good guaranteed fee for their performance. Your $10 donation ticket goes directly to paying their guarantee, and any purchases beyond their guaranteed payment goes directly to the artists.
We also offer the ability to tip/donate to the band via our POS, so you can make a donation at the bar or when closing out your check from dinner.
What time does music start?
Generally, we have 2 sets of music, from 8-9pm and 10-11pm.
This is flexible, and varies depending on the night's programming but generally speaking, music will start around 8pm and end at 11pm (we end at 10:30pm on Thursdays in an effort to be good neighbors).
Are minors allowed?
We are 21+, but we do allow minors if they are accompanied by a parent and/or guardian. Please reach out to us at info@umbrabrooklyn.com to let us know in advance.
Is outside food/drink allowed? (Can I BYOB?)
No. We have a full dinner menu, and offer drinks at the bar, so no outside food & drink are allowed. If you have a special dietary restriction or want to bring a meaningful bottle of wine/champagne, please reach out to us at info@umbrabrooklyn.com and we can discuss.
Do you have vegan and gluten-free options?
Yes! While our entrees are meat based, we do offer plenty of vegan sides, which can be paired to make a full meal for yourself. As for gluten-free options, the majority of our menu is gluten-free so no need to worry.
