He’s opened for Foo Fighters, Johnny Winter, and mentor Warren Haynes who fronts Gov’t Mule. Now, Marcus King and his band bring their southern blues to Crofters Rights.
20 year-old King may look too young to lead a band, but he’s had 13 years to hone his growling soul melodies and blazing riffs that betray masterful guitar skills. Lauded by Haynes for his "voice that instantly draws you in", and guitar playing that's "an extension" of that, the band's debut LP is a swampy mix of jazz, soul, blues and funk.
Soul Insight reveals quivering chords straight from the pulpit, slick basslines and a united jam so strong you won't be able to resist the groove when they hit the 100 Club in April.
