Channeling melancholy admissions through old, gravelly soul, James Cherry is one to watch.
The Leicester native has been writing songs since he was 13 and last year his break coming as Clash, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac praised his first single, I Cried Myself To Sleep. Loaded with brooding backing vocals, scatty vocalisations and a sparse, vintage feel, the pleading cut was a hit.
Returning with the frustrated blues of Why Don't You Listen, Cherry's infectious groove will be irresistible and he heads to The Cookie on October 18th.
Presented by The Cookie.
