An early member of Scotland's Fence Collective alongside the likes of King Creosote and KT Tunstall, James Yorkston has been an active member of the British contemporary folk scene for near 15 years.
Critically acclaimed and loved by his fellow musicians, Yorkston's found fans in everyone from Beth Orton to Hot Chip to Four Tet, who produced his record Just Beyond The River.
His folk trails narratives with a hushed beauty, understated delivery, and luscious backdrop of merging vocals and orchestration live at Union Chapel James with Withered Hand and Pictish Trail.
Three original songwriters, one perfect venue and a (Christmas) spirit of good-humoured collaboration. Onstage as a trio throughout, swapping songs and stories, harmonies and dodgy nyckelharpa solos.
Presented by Eat Your Own Ears.
This is an all ages event. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
