Former Shady Records rapper Obie Trice delivers with his smoky Detroit flows at Manchester’s Gorilla.
Code-switching between humour and heaviness like a true Eminem signee, his 2003 debut Got Some Teeth cracked us up with a hook as catchy as a playground chant, while heavier cut The Setup saw a serious flow co-signed by Nate Dogg. Since leaving Shady Records in 2008, he's been grinding. Tackling governance, violence and unfaithful friends, 2015's The Hangover is less slapstick, more serious, although feel-good single Good Girls is crunk club rap all over.
Keeping it classic with hype men and crowd calls included, expect an old school rap show. He already told you once: no name, no gimmicks.
