A union between Smith Western's Max Kakacek and Julien Ehrlich, Whitney craft songs that drift and swell in a sun-kissed haze and they're bringing their glorious sounds to Gorilla in November.
Leaving behind the crushing guitars and mosh pits, Whitney adopted a sound that sits somewhere in between country and folk. Pitchfork called first single No Woman a "gooey and aching country ballad", while the sway-inducing thoughtfulness of Golden Days boasts a colourful wall of blaring horns and twanging guitars.
Having released debut album Light Upon The Lake this June, it captured the essence of summertime and found huge critical acclaim across the board.
Trust us, Manchester. This show at Gorilla will be stunning.
