Starting out as the solo project of Kristine Leschper, over two years Mothers have grown into a four-headed beast of cutting sentiment that echoes and guts through your senses.
Signing to Wichita Recordings and due to release their debut album in 2016, they've already picked up fans in Stereogum and fellow Athens, Georgia residents Of Montreal. Sonically however, they bear more in common with the likes of Speedy Ortiz, or labelmate Waxahatchee with thick slacker guitars and heaped emotion.
Playing this intensely date at The Lexington, we expect a set too loud for the PA and too heavy for the heartbroken. With a nerve thrilling quaver to her voice akin to Carrie Brownstein's delivery, Leschper is set to rule the room. Mothers are your new favourite band.
