The project of Vancouver musician Dan Bejar, what began as an album of lo-fi folk recordings nearly twenty years ago has since spiraled into the all-encompassing force of Destroyer.
Now ten albums in and set to release new record Poison Season this year, the first track Dream Lover marks a triumphant return for Bejar with cacophonous production, screaming brass, and a melody that instantly feels timeless. It marks a steady progression from 2011’s Polaris Music Prize nominated Kaputt that saw Destroyer master stages around the globe with a euphoric genre-crossing assault.
We can’t think of a more perfect setting for their soaring dream pop symphonies than the beautiful Islington Assembly Hall. Make sure you join them.
