Very few do it as well as Dan. For the last few years, Dan Shake has been stamping his mark on dance-floors across the globe, both with his distinctive funk touched productions, and his expertise working a crowd. The London based artist has done what no other has done before him, landing his debut release back in 2014 on Moodymann’s prestigious label Mahogani Music, with no Detroit heritage. This has been followed with numerous self-released records on his label Shake, and Lumberjacks in Hell.
Following a triumphant return to Boiler Room in 2018 at Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain, plus a hugely successful Rinse FM residency, Dan Shake continues his meteoric rise, typified by his high energy productions on his own label Shake Tapes. Shake Tapes 005 was released in April 2019 and hones in on Dan’s distinctive and dynamic sound. A-side ‘Freak’ lands as an ecstatic, funk-inflected club track, whilst ‘Can’t Shake It’ swirls with jazzy, sampled hooks and euphoric disco-house energy.
There are few cities in the world where Dan Shake hasn’t torn a dancefloor to shreds and, with each passing, day that list of cities speeds closer and closer to zero. We look forward to having him back in July for a summer shake out.
