VIRTUALLYREALITY celebrate the raucousness, intimacy and hybridised nature of contemporary music and performance with this four-night series. They’ll feature music for instruments, electronic sets, dance, physical theatre, performance art and audiovisual. Watch these communities collide. For CARE they’re asking: “how we can make time to care for ourselves in the divided, noisy and increasingly apocalyptic present day?”

Opening the night is Danish accordionist Andreas Borregaard performing Jennifer Walshe’s SELF-CARE which is all about the fakeness of packaged happiness. Dancer and choreographer Last Yearz Interesting Negro and sound-artist Rowdy SS will present Fury1 a display of responsive in-the-moment sonic manipulation and movement. Closing CARE IceBoy Violet brings self-care and care from the queer community to the forefront to repel toxic heteronormativity and masculinity that has left them feeling an outsider. It’s time to bring the outside in.

VIRTUALLYREALITY SS19 is gratefully supported by Arts Council England.
