The first part of the workshop will explore how to theming and structure a podcast, before taking participants through a hands-on recording experience. The second half will outline the basics of editing and recording into podcast form, and how to share and market a podcast effectively.

As Head of Radio Production at NTS, Rory Bowens has extensive experience producing a diverse range of audio content, from music mixes to interview-based podcasts and large scale music events. Since graduating from Goldsmiths' MA Radio program in 2014, Rory's worked alongside artists and creators such as Jeff Mills, Aphex Twin and Wolfgang Tillmans, producing for clients including Tate Modern, SONOS, MoMA, MOCA, Adidas Originals, Uniqlo and YouTube Music.

Martha is a DJ, presenter and sound artist from Peckham. Her weekly NTS show celebrates electronic music culture across the world, whilst reflecting the temperature in London every Friday, 3-4PM UK time.

Martha has DJ-ed at the Warehouse Project, Wireless Festival, Fabric, Printworks for Annie Mac, Tate Modern, Outlook Festival and Cakeshop in Seoul. She has supported Flohio, Pussy Riot and Kode9 at their headline shows and shared line ups with Ikonika, Pusha T, Actress, Stefflon Don and AJ Tracey. Having recently crafted mixes for Discwoman, Resident Advisor and Kiss FM, Martha is also an exhibiting sound artist, and was commissioned by the Laundry Arts Programme to interpret the relationship between sound and memory in the first installment of their exhibition series. The podcast Martha hosted for Tate and her recent DJ set at the Saatchi Gallery inside their rave exhibition, Sweet Harmony, have cemented Martha’s affinity to art and sound.

Also an accomplished radio producer and journalist, Martha hosts and produces Resident Advisor’s focal podcast The Hour, a series of documentaries and discussions exploring Electronic music culture. Within The Hour, Martha has covered an extensive range of topics, including Techno Feminism, dance music trolls, the economics of electronic music, and a tribute to music theorist Mark Fisher. Martha regularly hosts panels for RA and presents content for their social media channels. Martha produced Annie Nightingale’s legendary BBC Radio 1 show for 4 years. Martha set up Tempo in 2018, a run club for South London's creatives to connect with their city and each other. Tempo embodies Martha's relationship to music and sport; she is a long term collaborator of Nike, having modelled for their ‘London’s Fastest’ campaign in 2017 and 2019’s Hackney 1⁄2 campaign, and has also FJ-ed at many of their events. Not limited to a run club, Tempo has a radio show on female-led station Foundation FM, where Martha curates work-out music & ambient mixes for warm-down/meditation.

Top Boy Academy is a two day programme from NTS and Netflix, giving young Londoners vital insight into the inner workings of the film, music and TV industries through a series of speakers, workshops and demos. Taking place over the 28th and 29th September at The Curtain in East London, Top Boy star Ashley Walters features in the programme alongside Top Boy's writers and producers as well as artists and creatives from the extended NTS family.

The event is aimed at 16-25 year olds living in Hackney, all the talks and workshops will be free but with limited capacity.
