Songwriter/producer Jesse Harris returns to Zebulon to celebrate the release of his latest album, Silver Balloon (Oct. 21), an experimental collection of new songs produced with legendary drummer/percussionist Kenny Wollesen, who will perform with him at the show, along with Benny Bock on keys and Jordan Brooks bass. In 2003 Harris won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year ("Don't Know Why") and has since released nearly 20 albums as a solo artist and produced and collaborated with a wide range of artists, from Maya Hawke to John Zorn. Opening the show will be Parisian singer, Gabi Hartmann, with original songs in French, English and Portuguese, whose debut album (produced by Harris) will be out on Sony France in January.

\--Gabi Hartmann is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Paris, France, whose influences range from Jazz, to French music and Brazilian and African music. She studied Philosophy and Politics in Paris and then moved to Rio de Janeiro where she fell in love with Brazilian music. After two years there she moved to London to study ethnomusicology, leading her on musical journeys in South Africa, Guinea, Portugal and New-York. That’s where she met the producer and songwriter Jesse Harris in 2018 and started to record with him her first solo project between New York, Rio and Paris, featuring her original material, as well as new French versions of Jesse’s Harris songs. Gabi Hartmann's debut EP « Always seem to Get things Wrong » released since October 2021 is a musical journey of first compositions and of many collaborations. With songs in French, English and Portuguese, this EP reflects the uniqueness of Gabi Hartmann's world and experience. Hartmann's sonic quest mixes melancholy and sweetness ; and lyrics dealing with not only personal subjects, such as mistakes and solitary wandering, but also with more political topics, such as in the composition "La Mer," about the death of migrants in the Mediterranean Sea.
