CAUGHT BY THE RIVER (WEEKEND)
Set in the lush grounds of Fulham Palace, where the Thames meets the city, you’ll find Caught By The River Festival. Like a countryside retreat with the spoils of the virtue of city culture, from 6-7th August, you’ll be transported to another headspace as you soak in the culture and surroundings of this “part gig, part literary gathering, part nature symposium, part high-summer garden party”.
Bringing their ghostly and often glitchy wash to the Lawn stage are Minnesota three-piece Low. One of the most revered indie rock bands of the past two decades, their career is built on downbeat and intricate song work with a sound that's instantly impacting and unmistakably theirs. Alongside them, Welsh royalty Super Furry Animals are headlining the main stage on Sunday. After celebrating the 15th anniversary of Mwng last year, they bring their nine album legacy of inventive psychedelic pop-rock and their own imaginative world.
With sets from the inimitable Beth Orton, afrocentric collective Sun Ra Arkestra, talks from Kate Tempest and Tim Burgess, an appearance from Springwatch’s Chris Packham and more, this culture-filled festival isn't just jump about in a park. Grab a ticket now.
