METASEQUOIA sprouted in 2007, taking root in Ithaca, NY.
As a Seedling, we absorbed our surroundings; fusing together our different sounds and experiences into an organic melody.
This fusion became our foundation.
We've rooted ourselves in Rock & Roll; and branch, bend and flow into genres of Reggae, Alternative, Pop, Blues & Psychedelic.
**JACOB WEIL**
Jacob Weil (pronounced Wheel) is a road-worn singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based out of Vancouver, BC. As a solo artist and songwriter, Jacob began as a teenager, but quickly switched gears to a life on the road bringing to life the music of his friends. It was during years on tour with Canadian folk act Sam Weber that Jacob rediscovered his love of songwriting in the back of the van after shows and during the few weeks at home between tours. Floating purposefully between the genres of Folk, Americana and Alternative music, Jacob’s songs often leave the listener reminiscing of a not so distant past, like a blurred memory obscured by the trials of the present moment.
**TORI JEANINE**
Tori Jeanine is a queer singer-songwriter from Philadelphia, PA and currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She engages listeners with her powerful vocals and keeps ‘em coming back for more with her personal, poignant lyricism. Her songs are a peek behind the curtain: an autobiographical journey that dives into her most intimate relationships to marry sincerity and silliness, triumph and failure, self-sabotage and self-care. Through her music, Tori hopes to transcend the individual and explore universal themes of love, loss, and loneliness.
