SECRETSUNDAZE DAYTIME SUMMER BLOCK PARTY
For the second of our 2 parties in May, we're transforming a vacant car park space at E1 for a Daytime Summer Block Party on Saturday May 30th, carefully curating some Secretsundaze favourites across an open aired dancefloor, E1's main warehouse space, plus a chill-out room. Think NYC-style Block Party meets signature Secretsundaze dancing al fresco, plus pumping tunes inside blasted through the venue's heavy custom-fitted Funktion-One rig
You'd be hard pressed to find anyone better to hold court in the sunshine than 'My Love Is Underground' head honcho Jeremy Underground. A notoriously deep digger with a penchant for the soulful, France's finest is joined by Mister Saturday Night, who themselves know a thing or two about how to work an open air dancefloor through running respected NYC institution Nowadays. It's rare to find a spot in London that Secretsundaze haven't graced behind the decks, so James and Giles are particularly excited for a signature sunshine session, plus we welcome down Rhythm Sister's Liv Ayers for a Secretsundaze debut after digging her slew of top-shelf recent podcasts.
Inside things have a decidedly harder feel. Special Request, aka Paul Woolford leads the charge, a titan of UK dance-music over the past three decades with an incendiary arsenal of rave-ready reworks and edits. Breaks and acid aficionado Luca Lozano, who runs the excellent Klasse Wrecks imprint, is joined by femme culture's hotly tipped Elkka, and two Very Special Guest who we'll be announcing in the coming weeks.
As if that wasn't exciting enough, NTS Radio's Chloëdees & Aqwea soundtrack the chill-out room with their soulful selections from the rich tapestry of UK Dance Music culture and beyond.
Be warned, this is the first large-scale outdoor daytime event we've done in London for a number of years, and we expect tickets to fly!
Please note, a £1 'Green Tax' is charged on tickets and guestlist for all Secretsundaze events. This will contribute to Dance 2 Sustain, a green initiative aimed at reducing the amount of waste and carbon emissions across the organisation. This includes banning single-use plastic cups at our events and carbon offsetting all flights that we book. Any remaining money raised via the Green Tax will be donated to our charity partner Possible, a local organisation inspiring climate action.
