Emma Pollock proved with her new album In Search Of Harperfield that good things really do come to those who wait.
Back in December, she teased her first LP in five years with the utterly brilliant Parks & Recreation (nothing to do with the TV show, FYI), a catchy cut of infectious alt-pop filled with delightful synths and a driving percussion.
Then she released the album at the end of January, and it was everything you could have wanted from an Emma Pollock solo effort. Harking back to her days in The Delgados but also looking forward, The Quietus described it as "a truly beautiful record that proves Pollock's artistic relevance now more than ever".
Let her bring it to life when she plays at Soup Kitchen in May.
