Rough Trade West is very excited to present an in-store unplugged performance and signing from Clémentine March. This unique event celebrates the release of their latest EP 'My Empty Town' released 3rd March via Lost Map Records.

*My Empty Town follows the release in 2020 of Clémentine March’s debut album Le Continent on Lost Map, and its stripped-back follow-up, 2021’s Songs of Resilience. Clémentine’s music has won her admirers throughout the music world, including BBC 6 Music’s Stuart Maconie who has featured her several times on his show the Freak Zone, and selected the song ‘Into The Distance’ as part of his Best New Music of 2021playlist. She has toured extensively around the UK and Europe, including as solo tour support for feted American indie-rock band Big Thief. In parallel with her burgeoning solo career, Clémentine has become a much in-demand multi-instrumentalist, particularly on bass, for artists including Snapped Ankles, Rozi Plain, Alabaster dePlume, Dana Gavanski, Bamboo, Yama Warashi, Naima Bock, Blue House, Bas Jan, Floating World Pictures and Haha Sounds Collective.*

*‘Silence’ is the third track from the My Empty Town EP to be released. ‘Elixir’ – a psychedelic reworking of a song from Clémentine’s 2020 debut album Le Continent, given new life by producer Toby Burroughs (POZI), and featuring Phil MFU (Vanishing Twin) on Moog and electronics, Ursula Russell (Snapped Ankles) on drums, James Howard (Blue House, Dana Gavanski) on bass and Dimitrios Ntontis on organ and synths – came out in 2020. Featuring the same line-up of players, the scuzzy ‘Isolated’was released in 2021. The My Empty Town EP is completed by the title track, a woozy bossa nova written during the pandemic, with themes of dislocation and malaise that refer to that period.*
