Aged just seventeen, Diana Nammi joined the now famed peshmerga fighting force to defend her community when Kurdistan was attacked by Iran’s new Islamic regime, playing an active part in the Iranian Revolution before it was hijacked by the Islamists. Join human rights activist Diana, alongside award-winning writer Karen Attwood to dismantle the extraordinary story of a teenage freedom fighter and revolutionary.

As well as being the startling account of twelve years on the front line, leading the struggle for women’s rights and equality for the Kurdish people, Diana's eye opening book 'Girl with a Gun' is also a narrative about family and resilience, with a tragic love story at its heart.

In a twenty-year career as a journalist, co-writer Karen Attwood’s work has been published in all UK national newspapers as well as several international publications. She is a former staff writer at the Independent and the Press Association and was on the launch team for Abu Dhabi’s first English-language newspaper, the National.
