When Bjork offers to record your vocal stems and the late David Bowie takes you as inspiration for his final album, you're doing something right.
Californian four-piece Death Grips are often said alternative hip hop, but that would do a disservice to the broth of genres they've stirred up in their six years as a group. In recent single Giving Bad People Good Ideas alone, blistering riffs of the metal persuasion drown out unrelenting shouts of punk-inspired rage and glitch-ridden synths - all sandwiched between the unexpected twee of a hook drowning in reverb.
Taken from Bottomless Pit, their third LP that Pitchfork calls "one of their most cohesive grotesques", they've created a truly unique sound that you either love or hate. For those that love, this Village Underground gig in October will be like nothing you've seen before.
