austerity records are honoured to present a day of music at The Piper, Saint Leonards.

Daisy Coburn Daisy’s musical journey started years ago under the saccharine guise of conveyor belt indie pop, Daisy Dares You, though short-lived, it crafted the road she has been on after rejecting it entirely.

Voyaging through genres playing in different bands in different cities (Pink Lizards, Bad For Lazarus, Clever Thing & The Duke Spirit) she evolved her own sound, bringing together elements of all her experiences. Finally feeling agency over her vision, she embarks on releasing her self written, played and produced material in a bid to be as authentic as possible and to eliminate compromise in the process.
The result is a collection of unrelenting love songs, new tales of old wounds, felt differently each time she revisits the memory. Dabbling between melancholy and fierce, the raw honesty always displays definition, through percussion and moody toms, sub bass and vocal play to exploit its depth and harps, violins, synths, and acoustic guitars to portray her femininity, the combination is original and unpredictable.

Hadda Be Pitched between infectiously melancholic indie-pop and angular, post-punk inflected stomps, Hadda Be is Amber, Ben, Matthew and Oliver.

The band was formed under the name Foundlings in 2018, spread across joint hometowns of South London and Brighton. Their first two singles, ‘Misery’ and ‘Horizon’, received generous airplay on BBC 6 Music and Radio X, as well as Melita Dennett’s BBC Introducing the South. The following year saw the release of the band’s debut, eponymously-titled, EP via their new record label, Last Night From Glasgow. In support of the release, the band took to the road, performing at festivals across the UK and selling out their two release shows at the Sebright Arms (London) and Stereo (Glasgow).

In 2020, with the departure of the band’s original bass player, a new member, a recent introduction to parenthood, a debut album, brexit-induced political turmoil, coronavirus and a US trademark dispute to boot, the newly replenished four-piece made the change to Hadda Be. Taken from Allen Ginsberg’s poem Hadda Be Playing on the Radio, the new name reflects a fresh outlook for the band, a keener understanding of its sound and a heightened sense of purpose.

Hotwax A melodic psych-rock band from Hastings featuring former members of The Kiffs.

Radidas RADIDAS are an electronic dance duo based in Brighton, UK - their sound can only be described as an Ibiza sunrise sound-tracked by the Cocteau Twins, with the infectious pop melodies of Tame Impala. Their thumping bass, 909 kicks and atmospheric synths create a totally unique and immersive sound. By infusing contemporary dance with underground psychedelia, RADIDAS have a futuristic take on modern disco.

The band began as a self-produced project four years ago in their hometown of Maidstone, Kent; where they spent several months developing their unique sound by experimenting with loops, synths and samples via home recordings. They released their debut EP 'Dream Button' digitally and as a limited vinyl pressing in July 2016 and have since played alongside the likes of Wolf Alice, Lets Eat Grandma and Bat for Lashes at Dreamland Margate, as well as supporting slots for STATS, Indoor Pets, Bloody Knees, The Eskimo Chain, Two Tribes, LELO and Merlin Tonto.

Their singles 'Miles Per Yeah', 'Shockwave', Do It' and latest release ‘Daisy Chain’ have all featured on BBC Introducing Kent.

Seadog Seadog is the project of Brighton-based musician and songwriter Mark Benton and Tom Chadd and their eclectic troupe of performers that create dream-pop songs. They combine a variety of influences into a myriad sound of lullabies with anthemic electric and acoustic samples and textures.

The band are currently working on their forthcoming second album “Internal Noise” at Bella Union Studios, Brighton. Recordings began deep in the 2020 lockdown and have been expanded upon in the studio with Jack Wolter of Penelope Isles on production duties.

The album features Jack Wolter on drums, backing vocals and additional guitars, while sister Lily Wolter, also from Penelope Isles, guests on the record. Seadog have previously worked with Phill Brown (Audio Engineer for Talk Talk, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Bob Marley) to complete their debut album "Cabin Fever Blues", released in 2018. Seadog have had songs playlisted on Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing The South, on which they have also performed a live session. They have also been selected and reviewed numerous times for Tom Robison's Fresh on the net blog. The new single Tidal Wave was selected for his BBC Introducing mixtape on 6 Music.

Snayx Founded in late 2018, SNAYX have taken the scene by storm having supported international acts such as D-Boy, Kid Kapichi, Nova Twins and more.
The British punk rock duo hailing from the South East, are renowned for ferocious live sets and visceral, hard-hitting bass riffs.

Their upcoming, debut album, ‘Weaponized Youth’ is the cataclysmic embodiment of Brexit Britain. Recorded at Brighton Electric studios with producer Josh Harrison (Royal Blood, The Cure, Blood Red Shoes), the record is a scathing assessment of the past quinquennial, but also reminisces upon the wild misadventures of British youth.

Marked as ‘ones to watch’ by Modern Age Music, the serpents have performed to sold out crowds across London and Sussex. SNAYX are set to shake up the scene in 2021 and are certain to bring Snake-like charm and swagger to stages across the UK.
