In last year's Little Giant, Roo Panes released a stunning debut record. Panes, who says much of the album began with poetry and no musical accompaniment, is a young master of stripped-back, unhurried folk music.

His effortlessly powerful falsettos intertwined with his creation of rich, sprawling harmonies is what has put Panes on so many one-to-watch lists. With his wonderfully meandering hymns and simply exquisite vocal range, the potential of Panes is undeniable.

This March he brings his talent to Bristol's The Lantern and we're hoping for new material.
