With latest 2017 release, Resistance, proving that they’re still providing us with their unique brand of traditional and modern songwriting, as well as the purest of Desert Punk and Blues, Songhoy Blues are most definitely relevant.
They came to exist after they had no choice but to leave their homes due to unrest in the North of Mali, resulting in them all residing in the South. Somewhat, silver Linings. After securing a deal with Transgressive, they soon released debut album Music In Exile which dropped in february 2015, a progressive and madly real mix of Punk sounds and politics.
A big live experience for sure.
