The renaissance of Divine Horsemen — which began in 2021 with the release of Hot Rise of an Ice Cream Phoenix, the legendary Los Angeles band’s first release in 33 years — continues with a thrilling, unexpected new album for In the Red Records, Bitter End of a Sweet Night, to be released as a two-LP set and a single CD!

**Gabriel Hart**

Recorded before the plague was just a twinkle in our eyes, Jail Weddings frontman Gabriel Hart has released his quietest studio effort to date, "Ego Jingles"—an avant-folk-art-damaged test of nuance, a challenge to our sensitivity whether tough guy or cowardly; often tender, occasionally antagonistic, yet altogether difficult to ignore or dismiss in equal parts internal Seppuki and exterior dread. In an effort to fill a room before he clears it, Hart will be backed by The Fourth Wall (featuring members of Jail Weddings) to reconstitute the volume of these delicate numbers.

**The Ticks**

Emerging from the vibrant underground music scene, The Ticks are a powerhouse of noise punk and art gunk rock, boasting an all-star lineup. The band features Bill Gray on bass and Scott Shannon on lead and rhythm guitar. Both Bill and Scott are renowned for their involvement with Rearranged Face, an art punk noise band that has left an indelible mark on the music landscape. Drummer Danny Rossi, with his impressive pedigree, adds another layer of talent to The Ticks. Having collaborated with IZM and Billy Bones in the past, and currently active with The Reflectors, Rossi's drumming style seamlessly transitions between a machine gun-like intensity in punk rock tracks and the finesse of a swing drummer in other compositions. Terri Hart, a formidable presence in the band, showcases her skills on slide guitar and vocals. With a musical journey that includes being a part of renowned bands like The Red Aunts and The Screws, Hart's range and talent are on full display. Her piercing and screamy vocals on certain tracks evoke the raw energy of early 70s punk, while on others, she captivates with her captivating range. Together, Bill, Scott, Danny, and Terri fearlessly guide The Ticks into uncharted sonic territories, pushing boundaries and defying expectations. Their music can best be described as Gunk Bebop with a swamp swagger, exuding the rebellious spirit of punk rock while incorporating elements that pay homage to The Rolling Stones played in reverse. With electrifying performances and boundary-pushing compositions, The Ticks are a force to be reckoned with in the noise punk and art punk scene.
