Black Crown Initiate is the sound of a sentient being at war with itself and everything else; an entity holding on for dear life as its inner and outer world dies. BLACK CROWN INITIATE is a Tech/Extreme Prog Metal band and was founded by Andy Thomas in 2013. Calling their hometown Reading, Pennsylvania, this band currently consists of Andy THOMAS (lead guitar, vocals), James DORTON (vocals), Ethan MCKENNA (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jesse BEAHLER (drums) and Nic SHAW (bass). Their intriguing style is a fusion of death and doom mixed with a progressive style, complex and complicated, surprisingly dynamic, which also embraces ambience and post-rock sensibilities at times. It is a thinking man's metal with lyrics based around the philosophy of Nietzsche embracing the views about liberation. The band cites it's influences as MESHUGGAH, MASTODON, GOJIRA, CALIGULA'S HORSE, HAKEN and PAIN OF SAVLVATION. It will also appeal to fans of OPETH, DECAPITATED and CYNIC. Inferi is an American melodic death metal band forged from the bowels of Nashville, Tennessee. The band formed in 2006 and strived to merge the classic melodic metal sound with a taste of crushing technicality. Arkaik's debut album, “Reflections Within Dissonance” (2010), displayed a unique marriage of superior craftsmanship and a forward-thinking promise rarely seen in a band that young. Their sophomore album, “Metamorphignition” (2012) built on their progressive and adventurous predilections and aimed to transcend the boundaries of “Technical Death Metal” even as it revels in the sub-genre's wanton brutality. The band's founder Jared Christianson (vocals) has pooled an immensely talented core of musicians around the band in its over 10 years of progression, including emerging drum phenom Nathan Bigelow (Singularity), Canadian bass prodigy Riley Christensen, and a powerful duo of creative and technically adept guitarists, Cris Portugal (Enslave The Creation, Claymore) and Alex Haddad (Nullingroots, Dessiderium). After releasing 4 albums worldwide and touring North America with some of the biggest names in death metal including The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Aborted, Exhumed, Archspire and Psycroptic to name a few, Arkaik began garnering an enthusiastic fanbase and pushing their sound forward into new conceptual and stylistic realms. As they look forward with ever-increasing determination, Arkaik continues to seek out new boundaries of extremity and creativity – and annihilate them.
