With disparate percussion and truncated rhythms all wrapped in his soulful tone and brimming with emotion, Jono McCleery has earned wide comparisons from Radiohead to Miles Davies.
His last record, 2011's There Is, took McCleery to stages supporting everyone from Gill Scott Heron to Little Dragon, and now he's back with new track Clarity, a soothing slow-burner that was inspired by John Coltrane's A Love Supreme.
It's taken from his new LP Pagodes, which landed on Ninja Tune in February, and he supports the release with this gig at Bush Hall in May.
