In last year's Little Giant, Roo Panes released one of the UK's best albums in recent years. Panes, who says much of the album began with poetry and no musical accompaniment, is a young master of stripped-back, unhurried folk music. His effortlessly powerful falsettos intertwined with his creation of rich, sprawling harmonies is what has put Panes on so many one-to-watch lists. With his wonderfully meandering hymns and simply exquisite vocal range, the potential of Panes is undeniable.
On the 18th April, Roo Panes will be gracing the Union Chapel in North London. So be quick, because tickets will go fast for this.
