A need for experimentation, exploring new sounds and new ways of making music – the inspiration driving HAAi, the Australian-born London-based DJ who continues an incredible couple of years by releasing her first EP on the prestigious label Mute Records.
HAAi, aka Teneil Throssell hosted Coconut Beats parties in Dalston which led to shows on Rinse FM and Worldwide FM, and eventually to a prestigious residency at the London club Phonox where Throssell played Saturday nights for two years (up until autumn 2018), a rarity in the city's nightlife.
HAAi's taste in music is unique and diverse, revelling in tracks full of intricate detail and character. Her sets are infused with heavy bass lines - from breaks to thumping techno - as well as all manner of percussive elements.
2019 has seen her take her talents by the horns and charge straight into asserting herself as one of the best about. Teneil is one of our favourites here at Patterns and it was only natural to ask her to stretch it out over the whole night for this one. Come get it.
20p from each ticket sold on DICE will be donated to The Clock Tower Sanctuary, a local day centre for 16-25-year olds who are homeless or insecurely housed.
