EBE OKE - FIELD
FIELD is a sonic landscape in three parts. In physics a field is seen as extending throughout a large region of space so that it influences everything. A sonic landscape unfolds continuously, is unbound by notions of musicality and highlights it’s terrains through reflections and shadows hinted through sonic texture and width of dimensionality as expressed by foreground and distance. In the composition process paths are never predicted, instead they are left to direct themselves moment by moment through suggestion, like mycelial hyphae or interstellar nebulae.
Ebe Oke is an artist, composer and collaborator. FIELD was originally commissioned by artist AA Bronson of General Idea and has been presented at Art Basel (Switzerland), the Salzburger Kunstverein (Salzburg and the KW Institute of Contemporary Art (Berlin). FIELD features the sculpted vocals of Takako Minekawa, one of Oke’s early influences.
