meandyou. resident (& designer), SK family member and most recently the head of his own imprint YOUTH - Andrew Lyster has been a regular feature in the Soup Kitchen basement and bar for as long as we can remember. Since its birth in 2017 YOUTH consistently surprised with belters from local heads like FUMU and likeminded experimentalists Shamos, Yard, Yugen Disciple and Sin Falta - with the label Andy has built his own world of well-weird noisey electronics that touches on industrial tones, 90bpm dancehall stomp and ofc some hazy house/techno/club sounds. He's also showcased his skills on decks splitting a tape with Even Tuell and dropping essential mixes for LIES & Truants +++ he's one of the OG Dekmantel Selectors.

Its the first session of the new season for Lyster's team of DJs and artists. Up front is John T. Gast, an enigmatic geezer with two of 2018's most striking 12"s behind him (BTEC Versions 1&2). He's bringing a rig of electronic boxes to perform a live set for his Manchester debut.

Head of Antinote who spent time on loan at Demdike Stare's DDS and most recently Editions Gravats, Ieuke will be providing the front-line with DJ support. He's got a rep for being unconventional and singular in his approach, blending together fucked noises and rhythms into a concrete-y soup.

Completing the starting line-up is the latest signing to Lyster's YOUTH label, billed by some as the next Madteo - FUMU. This year FUMU dumped a whopping 18 track selection onto a limited CD called 'Sinuate' selling out everywhere immediately. He's bringing some highly sought after samplers (E-MU + MPC) for a jam built on the stems heard on his debut release.
